I just hope they add a proper volume manager, support for some form of TV-out and add a little haptic feedback to the keyboard.

Had a burner Android phone and the haptic feedback was about the only thing I liked. Had to pull out my 1020 and test, I could have sworn it had haptic feedback. You were right though. It only does it when pressing the hardware buttons.

What would you be looking for in a volume manager? EQ? I can change those in settings. My only complaint is 01/30 is too loud with in ear headphones.

When you lower the volume on the Lumia 925(music, videos etc.), it universally lowers the volume for ringtones. So when someone is calling me(with volume lowered) I barely hear anything.

I just got a Windows 8 phone and admittedly I like it a lot. I actually prefer it over Android and iOS. Overall its easier to navigate (not that the other phones are all that challenging). I prefer the screen customization and real time update displays.

The main negative is the app support isn't up to par with the competition yet. But your most of your mainstream apps are all there.

Windows 8 is much better on touch devices. I know everyone wants to hate on Win8 but honestly I think Microsoft got it right for phones and tablets. Not sure if they are fighting a losing battle though. In the meantime I'll keep enjoying my Windows phone.

You also forgot to mention that developers can now download a prerelease of GDR3 now and let me tell you it is nice.

I still revile this interface. I want my OS to be simple, effective and professional-looking. Windows Phone is none of those things, it is candy-colored, kiddy-looking, hipster crap. I also do not like the idea of "driving mode", even if it is (for now) "optional".

I installed Visio 2013 yesterday and I was greeted with a Microsoft-made video explaining why I should love their new Office software. It looked like a crappy webcomic or an old eSurance commercial. It was paired with unprofessional language like "Welcome to your new office. We think you'll love it."

Apple has the most professional-looking software out there. The irony, considering their stereotypical customer base, is rich.

I've always thought the UI was rather simple. Flat tiles with icons inside. I find it effective about 90% of the time. Every now and then, I question why they made a decision regarding navigation.

Color is a matter of changing the setting. They do have dark tones. I think MS just shows the bright colors because it catches the eye. Which works, even if the viewer doesn't care for it.

I have to agree with you about that Office video, it looks just like those commercials...

LMAO!

-- I want my OS to be simple, effective and professional-looking. --

Everyone wants that and you have only several choices in the smartphone mobile world (unless you could code what you personally consider "simple, effective and professional" yourself) iOS, Android, BB OS and Windows for phones.

-- It was paired with unprofessional language like "Welcome to your new office. We think you'll love it."--

If you consider this unprofessional, apparently you haven't been out of your cave in a while. Many companies and even legal organizations seek and fight for language simplification, so people don't feel alienated and intimidated. This is the reason Facebook and Google are also changing their policies so often.

Do you mean the UI that hasn't changed in more than 5 years and is annoying lots of people to reach to the top of the screen every single time they want to use any menus? Certainly "professional-looking" ... yeah right! But that's just my personal opinion...

Apparently that iPhone UI isn't too annoying. Those iPhones aren't collecting much dust waiting to be sold. Unlike a certain 3rd ranked platform that I will not mention here. :)

Oh damn! I was talking about MacOS ... too late to edit it.

Those iPhones get sold because people buy several and then resell them online. 962 results for iphone 5s (New) on ebay

that's great!
