RICHARD RIDDICK

This is part of the reason people pirate games.

Agreed, I'm sick and tired of being punished for being a paying customer!

I personally purchase all my games but, this is also the same reason I don't buy Ubisoft games. I don't mind DRM when done right (Steam for example), but Ubisoft is draconian and buggy.

Articles like this remind me why I wasn't going to buy another UbiSoft game, but the thing is, I don't believe I'll remember that at the actual time of purchase.

I really, really like Far Cry as a series but it IS 'just' a console port, or at the very least hasn't been coded with the PC in mind from day-1. I can't blame them, more sales = more money, so PC gamers are kind of putting them in a tough spot of judgement. The Steam log in THEN the UPlay log in for playing Far Cry 3 was exceptionally terrible from a usability perspective and convenience factor. Seems like those calls aren't consumer-driven, they're executive-driven and they don't gather a lot of good will when stories like above persist with each launch.

At some point maybe Ubi and others will have to realize they are standing in the way of some of the success they could have experienced. I don't want to see another gaming company fail, but I'd like to think that maybe someone will be able to eliminate the consumer-UN-friendly behavior that seems to be all-to-common in the larger development houses.

Ubisoft is probably thinking they have some catch-22 going on.

If the game doesn't sell well, they'll blame it was pirated.

If the game does sell well, they think their DRM works.

U(can't)play has been broken since its inception and simply remains in said state for the launch of this latest crappy console port.

Nothing to see here.

I played the Assassin's Creed games up until 3. I couldn't deal with the glitches and crashes anymore, not to mention the UPlay client never remembering my password and always having to login to that as well.

Ubi won't be seeing a dime from me until they remove the DRM. Doesn't mean I won't be playing their games, just means they won't have my money in their revenue stream.

I've been boycotting Ubisoft going on four years now. I haven't purchased or played a single game of theirs all this time. I just got fed up with their bs and treatment of the PC gaming community.

I pirated it... One of the few games I didn't pay for. I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I do plan on buying the game for my Wii U though (whenever it is available). The game looks fun and it ran half decent on my system.

better check to see if you got the release that included bitcoin mining software with the game. i think it is pretty fun actually. ill wait until it is 75% off on steam before i play it. im in no hurry at all and it SHOULD give them time to fix their shit

Watchdogs is so screwed up, just like Future Soldier was and farcry 3. I fell through the map several times within the first 20 minutes of gameplay and experienced very bad graphical glitches like the black faces. Many people are responding to the game on Steam \ community hub. How convenient, the servers go down as negative feedback goes up. The plan is to buy time to pump out a patch and try to fix the many issues.

I never thought I'd say this but...

I'm glad I got the console version. Because it just works. Because I knew Ubisoft would pull some BS off like this. Because Ubisoft is no longer getting my money after this purchase.

Well I didn't pre order the game, nor do I plan on buying it right off, because of stuff like this. It's not working well with AMD cards (sadly), the Uplay severs aren't working right (again), and it was seriously overhyped. So uhh, I will be waiting for a nice big ole' discount and some updates before I buy this bad boy. In the mean time, I'm kinda getting back into APB: Reloaded and Planetside 2 again! (Because War Thunder Ground Forces just isn't quite fully there yet and World of Tanks never fails to tick me off, even after taking a 2 week break.)

Not to be a dick, but anyone who still buys Ubisoft games deserves to sleep in the bed they made and be out $50 for it.

Remember StarForce?

But I guess asking people to vote with their wallets is asking too much. Ubisoft has never learned, but then again, neither do gamers.

Never again Ubisoft. Not suprising. I actually really liked Ghost Recon Future Soldier but they couldn't get the servers to ever work right. Ubisoft has horrible customer support and seem to be plagued by server issues with every title. I'm over it.

I got this game with my GTX770 so I didn't pay for it. But I look at it this way, since I didn't pay for it, its no big loss. I am however still playing Battlefield 4 in all its glorious eye candy. I wasn't really salivating to playing this game anyway so its not a big deal with me on the server issues. I do believe that UbiSoft should tone down the DRM though. Its bad when you actually buy a game and can't play because it is landmined with these types of flaws on launch day.

Meanwhile, pirates have apparently had the game running just fine since a week before release.

Server issues? HA! Head over to Steam and you'll see a tornado of negatives for this game. Thumbs down. AMD card issues, driver issues, FPS lag issues, UbiSoft login issues, the list seems to never end and most echo the same ending, players want their money back.

I was about to purchase this but various game play videos on YouTube look as boring as watching a blind chimp learn a crude form of language by feeling sphincter muscles move in non specific patterns.
