Will this make online multiplayer games give a better experience in terms of ping or In EA's case for Battlefield's client side hit detection issue?

Hey.That_Dude

Now if only the ISPs would compete! (Lolz, never going to happen.)

Too bad I'll never get to experience it since Verizon refuses to bring their FiOS network to my town, but oh well, their loss.

My favorite thing is how FIOS is spotty throughout my area, but rather than paying for a larger rollout, they buy about 100 commercials a night telling me how great a service is that they won't extend to me.

It's probably they can't.

Thanks to your post I looked this up. I knew they paid a franchise fee and I knew they were all for profit. What I didn't know was that some towns offer exclusivity in exchange for the fee. That would create a de facto monopoly.

The reality is they could sue the town, and probably win, but the legal fees plus the build out of the infrastructure would make it unprofitable so they dont bother.

Too bad Netflix's upload speeds are getting hammered...
