Windows 7, DirectX 11!

Posted 11/22/2008 at 02:54:43pm

Other then some fancier graphics...DX10 didn't really justify anything.  There are still very few games out with DX 10 support.  I will buy a new card now and like most people wait for Windows 7 SP?

She may be a smart and intelligent person, she is just not street smart or wise.

If someone left a ferrari running in china town with no one around and a guy said its yours and hands you the second set of keys.  Would you take it?

Knowing that there could be drugs, explosives, or that the car belongs to the Pit Bosses Wife?

Yeah if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.  Oh and terrorists already now have 400K +

If the cooler is quieter then the normal X2 cooler then yes I think its a good idea.  If its just an excuse to make it look bad ass with the same cooling and noise as a normal X2 then umm...thanks but no thanks

15 years after the fact they figured out they can use GPU acceleration for 2D.

Well I guess its a step forward.  More CPU cycles for some of the older games maybe.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Gunning For WoW's Throne

Posted 10/26/2008 at 01:17:59pm

I don't think starwars will take the crown.  I mean it was 1976 when it came out.  I am not saying there is not a loyal fan base of SW fans out there.  I was born the year starwars came out and I admit I really liked star wars growing up but....its not the same now that I am older.   I also haven't seen to many kids out there talking about star wars.

THe big thing about WOW is warcraft was a huge genre across multiple platforms and cultures.  It was world wide, and became a competitive system ie: warcraft 1,2, and 3.  The RTS also had great story telling.

Can bioware compete, I hope they make a better product but I don't think they will succeed in attracting a larger user base.

New Paper Technology is 500 Times Stronger Than Steel

Posted 10/23/2008 at 03:23:40pm

I don't know why they just don't use interleaved phone books like on mythbusters.  100% recyclable.  After all it took two tanks to pull them apart.  8000 pounds of force.

Plus after all how many times do we really use the yellow pages.

This technology however looks very interesting for body armor and other building materials.  Question I have i s how flamable is it.
