Lol. You're part of a cult. Prepare to be slandered.
Church of Scientology Banned From Wikipedia
Posted 06/02/2009 at 10:14:16pm
Eh, CoS can suck it. I never thought anything could be more crazy than being Catholic until I looked at the Church of Scientology (who the fuck comes up with that name in the first place? It evens sounds fake/shady.).
Norwegian ISP Offers $400 Off For Digging Your Own Trench
Posted 05/12/2009 at 01:45:39pm
There have been laws in Congress recently that force credit companies not to gouge their customers into paying continously on the interest....
Where's the decency to help people get decent internet speeds without paying an arm and a leg? (Socialism is one thing, but slow internet is something I just won't stand for in the name of capitalism.)
Hulu Still Trying to Keep Foreigners Out; Blocks Proxies
Posted 05/09/2009 at 10:45:48pm
Somehow, someway (with more ads or longer ads or something for people outside the US), Hulu needs to fix the third-party problems and the "US only" thing. It's making things harder for people to watch the commercials that they desperately want to watch.
Seriously, though, Hulu is too popular at the moment to be only thinking about how this is going to make their wallets fat. If they allowed third party programs to access Hulu (like Boxee) and viewers from outside of the US to watch, they'd be rolling in the dough (a lot more than now) from advertisements.
By the way, I don't have cable and I probably never will. I have also never seen any of these pirate sites that have TV shows in good quality (360p or greater). To the poster that yelled about being able to watch TV shows on pirate sites, name your sources.
Maximum Windows: Take Control of Your Desktop with Five Free Apps!
Posted 05/03/2009 at 08:20:08pm
Here we go: "And that's why I've hunted down fire freeware applications that give you just-that-much-more control" (instead of "hunted down FIRE freeware", it should be "hunted down FIVE freeware". By the way, that typo is in the second paragraph, third sentence. (And the second sentence of the third paragraph is a fragment.)
Quake Live Open Beta Launching Next Week

Closed beta. Hate to say it, though, Quake just isn't my cup of tea.
Psystar Scores Rare Win in Legal Battle against Apple
Posted 02/10/2009 at 06:08:21am
This is good for competition. I would love to see Apple actually competing with people on hardware fronts. Maybe they should pull an Intel and start licensing a "real" MAC OS X.
"Crap OS X"? really? I don't want to start a flame/trolling war, so let's not go into the many problems with both operating system. My opinion is that OS X is better for file managing/basic editing. Yours is that OS X sucks, but keep that to yourself.
TED 2009: Bill Gates Releases More Bugs into the Public
Posted 02/05/2009 at 12:10:38pm
Malaria is bad. Most every other lethal disease is bad (I can't think of one that isn't) for our survival as a species. If he wants to bring up malaria as a disease that can be eradicated, then he's allowed to do that. In fact, you people should be supporting him (preferably with money). Saying that other diseases need attention is doing exactly what Bill Gates was doing (bringing attention to the problem), but I don't think you have the kind of public klout needed to actually convince people to give money for it.
I hope you never get the oppurtunity to hold another person's life in your hands. You would fail at that. STFU and GTFO.
Google Execs Face Criminal Charges Over Online Video
Posted 02/03/2009 at 07:02:55pm
This is complete BS. It sounds like there needs to a be a series of international laws so that people understand what the Internet's really for: a completely free place where anybody can do anything on any website that they have access, and they can pay the penalties for.
Google is completely innocent for once. It was their website, their turf, but they can't screen videos before they show up on Youtube, or is that what the Italians think (the prosecutors)?
Korean Broadband to Reach 1Gbps Speeds by 2012
Posted 02/03/2009 at 08:24:16am
If I remember correctly, I think that they're working on standardizing rates that should bring the speeds that people can access (hopefully making overall speeds faster). Legislation fail for taking so long to come up with "internet quality standards".
Hey Maximum PC Staff, I have a request and a possible grammatical correction:
Request: Could you find a story on Internet quality across the country? How badly do internet access and rates suck?
Possible Grammatical Correction: "For a frame of reference, that’s 200 times as fast as the average 5Mbps DSL connection here in the United States."
I think that this may be: "For a frame of reference, that's 200 times FASTER THAN the average 5Mbps DSL connection here in the United States."
