Dell Introduces its Extremely Rugged Tablet PC: Latitude XT2 XFR
Posted 10/27/2009 at 07:02:51pm
In my book, it has to have an amazing battery life. Anything less than 7 hours and it's not worth it. The Toughbook 19 is rated for 9/10 hours, and from my experience with their products, will probably do it easy.
The dell seems to have better hardware though.
Microsoft Pokes Some Fun at Apple's App Store

most people probably won't understand what they're trying to say. All I really get is that they're saying a lot of apps doesn't mean a lot of useful apps. Ok, point made. But yeah, people won't really understand. Do enjoy these random videos though, but don't think airing them on TV is going to do much.
Apple Unveils World's First Multi-Touch Mouse
Posted 10/21/2009 at 03:35:40pm
Look at this. We thought out of the box to design this mouse. Instead of using silly things like wheels and buttons to do everything, we have multitouch, cause everything we make has to have multitouch. Why would you want to use a wheel to scroll anyways when you can use multitouch. Back and forth, those buttons kept our mouse from looking sleek. Speaking of sleek, we also made it as flat as we could so it would feel just like a touchpad.
Stay tuned for our next greatest product, the multitouch keyboard. Why would you have all those buttons...

College Students Picking on the Kindle DX
Posted 10/19/2009 at 08:45:21am
yeah. I get a lot of shop and repair manuals in PDF form since they're cheaper and easier to get that way. I just use a laptop to read them. I can always print out the pages I want to have in paper form. Laptop allows me to look up any information I need on the web if the manual isn't good enough, listen to music, and store pictures of the repair process as I go along. So I guess the best eReader is pretty much just going to be a thin tablet computer.

For most of my engineering textbooks, I have the book tabbed and marked thoroughly. There's a lot of information that I need to flip to quite often while working on problems. The reader would have to have a really easy way to bookmark a page, label it, and then have a very quick way of going back to it. And even with that, how do you navigate the bookmarks quickly enough if you have more than, say, 20 bookmarks.
Corsair Releases "Practically Indestructible" 64GB Flash Drive

maybe now they'll have the GT versions for the lower capacity drives in stock. Haven't seen anyone who carried them for over a year now.
Corsair Releases "Practically Indestructible" 64GB Flash Drive

While yes, the cap is not the same piece of stock as the body, it is still on there good.Have had mine for a couple years now and it has not broken in any way. And i've put it through a bit.
And the reason it can't be the same metal is probably how they manufacture the shell. Having the cap separate makes it much easier to manufacture.
Is Windows 7 Going to Boost Mac Sales?
Posted 10/14/2009 at 10:50:30am
If only they provided a nice, clear picture of the graph they're basing the report on. No idea what the vertical axis is, but I'm assuming it's apple hardware sales. The graph would be even better if they put the dates of Mac OS releases on there as well.
From what I see, laptop sales have been steadily increasing over the last couple of years. Probably because that's when the macbook had enough power/speed to do what most people need, and it was a laptop.
Should note that there was no increase around the XP release. Major increases were seen around Win2K and Vista. So a bad OS increases mac sales, while a good OS does nothing. Makes sense. When an OS is about to come out, people probably wait for it to be released before buying. Most of these people are probably PC people. So if the OS is good, people buy it and no new Mac customers. If it's bad, people don't understand downgrading OS or anything else most of us would consider simple, and just jump to mac since that 'works'.
Don't think Windows 7 will decrease or increase mac sales. Just a matter of shutting up all those people who mindlessly shout how window's sucks just because of the poor vista release.
