Is Windows 7 M3 Build 6801 Really "Vista R2?"

No it's not dead, you can still buy it online from both Newegg.com and Tigerdirect.com. Also, M$ is still supporting XP until 2011 or so. Also, as there is such a large install base for XP, it will remain supported by hardware manufacturers for a long time to come. You can order it on Newegg for $140. Tigerdirect has it for the same price. Both are for XP Pro Service Pack 3 OEM Version. I'm sure I could find it online for cheaper though if I did a Google search. Vista is bloatware really with several hardware and driver issues yet. Windows 7 is in pre-beta as of yet, so it's impossible to assess what it will be like. However, from what I've read it does indeed seem similar to Vista overall.
