Youtube Goes 1080p

Posted 11/12/2009 at 11:17:18pm

A lot of consumer 1080p cameras don't handle indoor lighting and close-up details that well. If the woman holding the camera backed off about a foot and added sufficient lighting, I bet you would have seen the difference. Hardly a great test video.

It took me a couple re-reads, but when you said "xfire" I thought you were referencing the IM client. Everyone else here probably understood what you said, but to avoid the confusion I would have spelled out the whole thing.

Illegal Music Downloader's Spend "The Most on Music"

One can only assume how much an Artist really makes on every CD sold. But what about the concerts? I often find myself spending 4 times as much money on band merchandise at a concert than CDs in a store. A lot of bands which get much more profit from memorabilia than the CDs they sell. Most of these are small time bands, who make most of their money from tours, but how much are they really losing on a pirated album?

Ultimate Router Guide: How to Optimize Security and Performance

If I may say I think the point he's trying to get at is that it's not worth the headache or the effort to make it invisible if an intruder just side-steps with a click of the mouse. I've had my fair share of devices that have issues connecting to invisible Wi-Fi networks and it's not very practical to put into use in order keep out a hacker. Having a password and MAC Authentication list would be enough to keep unwanted roamers from connecting.

Your point was very clear and well written. It's been quite a bit of time since I've seen a comment of this quality. Nowadays, anyone with an internet connection can post a comment. It's not very exclusive anymore and those with expertise now have to stand out of a crowd to make a valid statement.

Intel Drops CPU Market Share, AMD Catches Up

Posted 06/11/2009 at 03:03:57pm

If you think about it in consumerist terms, people aren't buying Intel products as much as they used to. Instead during this recession, more people are likely to buy AMD budget chips which will raise AMD's share.

2.3 measly points isn't something to get excited about, but when and if you see AMD producing more chips that has a better "bang-for-the-buck" than Intel, then it'll be a threat. Until then AMD has still got quite a ways to "catch up", but for a company that only controls a 5th of the market, they are competing very well with Intel.

This is embarrassing to say, but it humorous.

I had sneezed while at my computer and smashed my head into the ledge of the desk. Cut my head open a little bit and had to get 7 stitches at the hospital. :\
