Classmates.com Sued by Unpopular Man

Yeah, Classmates.com got busted, and I believe that particular incarnation is "off the air."
But they're not gone. No sooner did they quit using the classmates.com title, I started getting e-mails from www.usareunited.com with the exact same line of crap. "Classmates are trying to reach you from *** High School!"
So they just changed domain names and are still at it.

Great aritcle. I hate most copyright laws, especially the ones perverted to serve the interest of groups trying to hide the truth, let alone the ones perverted to prevent fair use laws.
Is it just me, or does anyone else think Quinn Norton is a total babe?

I agree that you shouldn't pirate.
I also agree that escalated piracy will only give them proof that their games need draconian measures to stop it.
That being said, I totally disagree with HOW they implement copy protection. I don't want root kits installed on my system, and I don't need my rig "calling home" every time I boot up the game.
I used to copy software alot. I've since seen the errors of my ways. I would rather purchase a game and receive all the benefits of purchase (updates, manuals, tech support, et.). But don't make the cost so prohibitive.
And for years, people have been copying Windows. Did that stop Bill Gates from selling billions of copies? Nope! Microsoft just made its copy protection that much harder.
Like I said... make the software worth a damn, and charge a REASONABLE price, and I'll buy it.

No... We think we're special because at least we know the difference between "their" and "they're" when we're bashing someone.
It's one thing for a fan boy to use bad grammar in a post, but a totally different thing for "their" editor to miss using "their" instead of "they're."

Finally Micro$oft has found a way to stop us complaining about their crappy Vista... release an even NEWER, CRAPPIER Operating System. Their new marketing ploy is to release "WIN 7" way too early. It'll suck so bad that we'll say, "Hmmm. Vista ain't so bad after all!" ...and the Geek shall inherit the earth.
