When they first hit the main stream wasnt apple making its own hardware? Also, didnt they stop making their own hardware because it cost too much and the hardware was inferior to hardware already out at the time? What makes them think its going to be any different this time?

All i have to say, thats the difference between consumer products and enterprise grade products, and also between boutique products and"face value" products.

I suppose if you have the cash to burn its not bad to try it out. It would be cool to have just for the braging rights. I could only imagine what kind of setup you could have with this display and a Cinemassive setup.
For those worried about how the back sticks out, (like someone else said) check the Gizmoodo post. This monitor is DLP. this explains the size and also the insaine preformance.

I dont know about anyone else but its no secret portable pc battery listings are higher than the norm, they always test with lowest power usage. Besides its better for advertising. what sounds better 9hr battery or 2hours?! duh.
same reason car manufacturer mpg ratings are higher than driven actuals
same reason listed hard drive space is larger than actual

id be curious to know the frequencys and latency. and to know if theres a preformance impact accessing so much space

they probaly are but im hoping all the programs are Vista 64bit compatible, i usualy dont have problems but theres always that bad egg that sneeks up on you.
(for the other comment) i havent downloaded any of the programs yet but, i know programs like CPUZ would provide you with information like that. If not you could always crack open your computer case and take a gander inside to see.
