Windows 7 Review: XP vs Vista vs 7 in 80+ Benchmarks

Posted 08/26/2009 at 07:21:54pm

I must be lucky, Vista  gave me little or no trouble.  7 though is great but I still feel Explorer needs more work.

I must be one of the few people who like Vista.  I started using it from Beta without problems and used it both at home and work.

If I didn't game at home I'd seriously consider the Mac. However I am  now running Win7 on all home computers and quite happy with it.

Next stop is to move to 64bit both at work and home.

20 Windows 7 Tweaks & Tips – Every Secret Uncovered to Date

A very good post, that reflects my feelings exactly.  It's funny how people forget that XP was bug ridden at first.

Actually I had very little trouble with Vista.  I use it at home and work, I'd never go back to XP.  I am looking forward to the Win 7 release and in fact am writing this from 7048.  My main complaint with Windows is it's too expensive to buy off the shelf.

Oh and for the Linux fanboys...I do like Ubuntu and in fact have it installed along with Vista and 7.  I consider it a backup system.  For a free OS it's great and while the 3D cube Desktop is impressive it can't touch Vista or 7.  I will however continue to download each new version .

Make Vista Liveable

Posted 07/10/2008 at 07:12:21pm

For such a horrible OS it gives me little problem.  I run it at work using Engineering Applications.  At home all computers are Vista.  The main wired gaming computer is connected to a laptop and 2 wireless computers in the kids bedroom not to mention a Xbox 360 via a router and cable modem.

One thing I have problems with is copying large files between the wired and wireless computers.  I have to use an USB key.  I have heard that is not uncommon even with XP.
