That's great. My Mac buddies will get a kick out of this. That pic is genius too.

9 Kick-Ass DIY Projects to Get Your Hack On

Posted 09/22/2009 at 11:36:36am

Now that old Inspiron 8000 I've got sitting around has a purpose for living. I'm so going to do this! Another poster here was right. A lot of DIY stuff is done with stuff around the house. I've got some wood left over from a shelf project I had. That's going to be my frame. And as a bonus for this project, I may also do that USB fan to cool that overheating beast.

Sony and Partners Announce New Blu-ray Licensing Firm, Player Pricing to Drop by Mid-Year

I still have to buy a new TV....and still pay a premium for the media. Nah, I'll skip it, thanks. This isn't like the jump from magnetic tape to optical disc. The average schmoe can't simply upgrade with a player.

XSS Vulnerabilities at AmEx Website

I love how as an AMEX cardholder I wasn't informed of this...and since I was never informed I wonder if I'll not be informed once the vulnerability has been addressed and corrected.

How to Build a Kick-ass $800 Gaming PC

Posted 12/19/2008 at 03:47:47pm

Yeah, I've been on the Antec PSU hater bandwagon as well...what's happened to them. BTW, the Egg has got a PC Power and Cooling 500w PSU for $70 before rebate and a 610w for not that much more as of this post. Check it out

I would also go for the classic q6600. As for the video card. I'm gaming on a 19" 4:3 panel at 1280x1024 anyway, i'm sure that 4850 will do just fine.

And MaxPC, I love these guides. Even though I've been building for a while I like to see what other people are doing and borrow ideas. Keep up the good work.

Valve Releases 'Complete Pack' with Left 4 Dead and About a Billion Other Games for $100

Posted 11/17/2008 at 11:46:21am

Will that kill my Comcast Bandwidth cap? Or will I get a Cease and Desist notice because I'm downloading so much at once? ISP CEO's and advisors don't think about crap like this...or maybe they do so they can charge customers more...whatever, it's a cool package I think since I don't have any of those games except for Half-Life 1.

Yeah, great. Now I gotta get a new TV, maybe a decent sound system, and then re-buy all my movies at a premium...sure no problem.

Sure a lot of us know about this little app but many new users/enthusiasts/closet geeks/whatever don't. I'm glad this is here, it's great tip to get your system starting up a little faster. I agree there should be more articles like this, maybe in a different section.

Zotac Packs WiFi and Nvidia Graphics on an Oh-So-Cute Mini-ITX Board

I'm surprised it's not equipped with GB Ethernet. I would think if someone would want to pick this board up for a media device (Hell, even a little NAS project) it would have a faster network connection on it.
