Newegg Reverses Decision to Collect New York Sales Tax

Posted 08/28/2008 - 1:47pm

Hold onto your hats!  Revolutionary idea incoming!  Instead of finding new ways to tax, why don't those useless leeches on the public we like to call "politicians" find new ways to not waste money hand over freaking fist.  Its like they burn the stuff, or wipe their butts with it.  I have no idea how they waste so much so quickly, but they manage it.  If they can curb their enthusiasm for spending other people's money just a little bit I bet they will find they have way more than enough.

Oh, yea.  Taxes are a necessary evil.  But its just a question of how much.

Sigh, here goes the last shed of my geek cred. on
Nvidia Silently Launches $60 9400 GT

Posted 08/28/2008 - 1:33pm

I am still running my old 7800GT video card that I have had since it was "the new thing", I paid near 500 bucks for that thing and wanted to get every last shred of value out of it.  It seems to me that this MIGHT be a decent little upgrade for me on the cheap?  My wife is still using my old 6600GT the 78 was an upgrade from.  I am sure it would be one for her.  Any thoughts? Other than go spend another 300+ bucks on a new card, just can't swing it.

Did you really ask what is a Deus Ex? on
Gaming Roundup 9/8/08: Hey Denton, Look!

Seriously.  It is only "the greatest first person shooter with RPG elements to seperate it from the other first person shooters" in the history of video gaming, on any platform.  Dont you love it when people quote themselves?  Anyway, thats how I honestly feel about the game.  In fact, I get a happy giggly feeling every time I think about it.  Now, the follow up Deus Ex: The Invisible War... not so much.  It was fun, but it pales in comparison to the first one.  Heres to hoping DEx3 is as awesome as DEx1!!

EA Getting Slammed for Spore's Unintelligently Designed DRM

Posted 09/10/2008 - 1:56pm

Those crazy, cuddly suits.  They are so CUTE when they do ridiculous things.  Especially when they are so absolutely certain it is the right thing to do.  They grow up so fast.

Naa, I haven't played Spore, and I never will.  I would have bought it if it wasn't crippled DRMware.  I refuse to pay that much for a game that is that crippled.  They can eat me.

Not enough bad press on
Microsoft fires game test contractor who talked to VentureBeat

I don't think MS has gotten nearly enough bad press over the Xbox360 failure rate.  It is painfully obvious that what this guy said is true, but that MS hasn't gotten nearly enough of a black eye over it.  The 360 is the failingest piece of consumer electronics, in what, the history of the universe?  Mine just recently red-ringed out of the blue, and my brother has had it happen to his original, then within a couple of months to the replacement.  So far so good on his third.  Does anyone doubt that they rushed this thing to market waaaaaaaaay before it was ready?

Oh man, do I HATE that. on
