Windows XP gets Another Stay of Execution

Posted 12/23/2008 at 08:41:05pm

I have used windows xp for a while now (since 2005) and have now just recently in the last year bought a computer with vista home premium 64bit. Being a gamer, the only reason why I went to Vista, was that it allowed more memory to be used on a comp. Also, I wanted a Operating System that wouldn't become obsolete in the next 1-2 years. Well I love xp, because it runs very quickly and doesn't use much ram. The menus are also very well organized. When I switched to Vista, it looked very sexy, but took a while to get used to. I had to "teach" myself how to find how vista catogories files. Took a couple months, and to tell you the truth it was a nighmare. But because Windows vista has an automatic updater, the os has been running fairly well and getting better and faster as I go. When I started with Vista it would crash, or it would go into sleep mode and when I woke it up, it would kill the sound. Resulting in having to restart the comp again. ARG... not fun for a gamer that has busted his walet to gety a good comp. I do love Vista now that it has been updated many times (automaticly). No more crashes, sound issues, or menu issues. Thank God. Now I can just enjoy my sexy desktop and let the magic seep in... Another thing i like about Vista is their tabs and sidebars. Now I can view my time, ebay product costs, cpu usage, and watch Youtube videos straight from my desktop. Wow. The Tabs are amazing. They have a very modern feel and have a flawless interface. - Vista rocks.

I Still use xp on my parents comp. and at school and its great. But if you want something even better, check out vista, or windows 7. **Windows 7, may be better than Vista, hope it is** If you are low on ram though, don't grab vista, it will kill your computer speed to that of slugs in vegtable oil. Not cool. Need at least 1gig of ram on vista (minimum) But on xp, 512mb ram is excelent, 1-2gigs is like a rocket. So go ahead chose vista, or windows 7. The company is still going to be a pain in the ass and stop selling Vista in 6 years, but... what say do you have. This article talks about xp being sold for a bit longer. Why Windows?!! Why are you getting rid of something that actually works? Be proud of xp, and let it last! Whateva.

also here that there was a sp2 going out for vista? Worth checking out.
