Spore DRM Saga Continues, EA Gets Sued

Posted 10/04/2008 at 03:11:32am

the point is that a person can buy this game and install it and another program is secretly installed on your computer Without your knowledge or willingness that: can not be removed without a format/restore ( witch can cause problems with activations of other legitimately purchased programs), uses system resources (even while not playing the game), can hamper or disrupt other legitimate functions of a computer, damage hardware, corrupt files, open doors for other unwanted software.

remember rootkits where invented by sony as a drm device, spyware programs by other companies can now use it to make themselves undetectable and take whatever they want from you including credit card numbers, ss#, license#. people have lost there whole lives to drm!

drm dose not hamper people that steal or pirate software, it can easely be removed from the disk before installation and spread over the internet, it hampers people that actualy buy the software.

in the case of sony's rootkits you dident even have to install or agree to anything, just put the disk in your computer to listen to the music and it installed itself, it caused the drive to not work properly when a music disk was insertd. sony lost a bundle in court on that one!

so, instead of right clicking, you open the drive use search in the upper right corner of the window. i find it easier than xp's annoying Little interface with the animated dog. on top of that if you have indexing on it will ony take a few seconds to search the whole 4TB and it can even look inside documents like pdf,  txt, rtf, doc...

no f-ing  way i would have left a tip, i wouldent have even paid if it was that bad!

PC Building Guide FAQ: Part 1

Posted 07/04/2008 at 04:58:22am

I call Bull$#!%. i built a grate gaming rig over a year ago for less than $1500 (that includes a retail OS) and almost all of my components have a lifetime warranty (this isn't generic stuff either: EVGA, Corsair, Western Digital...) dell still cant offer something comparable for that price, not to mention the crapware you have to remove, and no OS disk only a restore disk! on top of that, with a Dell, stairing at it wrong can void your warenty. Unless you wand a $200 glorified web browser Dell is a total rip!

That is ram built on to a peripheral and controlled by the peripheral for its own use, the system does not have to recognize that RAM just the video card! Check in your Control Panel\System if you don't believe me.

CEO Sues Former Company For Snooping in Personal Email

Posted 07/04/2008 at 04:09:53am

I think what they where saying is that he logged in to his e-mail account and left his computer with it still logged in for anybody walking by to see.

What gets me confused is: "The CEO’s former employee's access to his Yahoo account netted them over 10,000 e-mails which included privileged communications between him and his attorneys regarding his plans to sue regarding his firing."

Is there a typo, they fired him because his employee's found info about him suing the company for being fired? sounds like he was fired before they accessed his e-mail.

the third core may be graphics or physics. but a real triple core would typically be faster than a quad core that communicates through the bios.
