Microsoft Plans to Inundate New PCs with Ads-ridden Office 2010 Starter Edition
Posted 10/09/2009 at 11:04:35am
Basically what you just described is Office Home and Student Edition which Microsoft usually charges $150 for. I work in retail and it's BY FAR the most common version of Office that we sell. So what you're basically telling me then is that the majority of people would probably be very happy with what OpenOffice offers at a $150 savings.
Ballmer: Who Needs E-Readers When You've got a PC?
Posted 10/09/2009 at 10:53:38am
Maybe it's just because I haven't tried one yet but why spend $299 or more for an electronic book reader when I can just buy the book for $10? The only benefit I can imagine is the back light but they also sell little book lights for $4.99. Does the e-reader read the book for me or something?

ACLU Warns of Privacy Concerns about Facebook Apps
Posted 08/27/2009 at 10:38:14am
The fact that Facebook has recently disabled hundreds of apps that were inconsistant with it's policies is probably something that Facebook doesn't want to brag about. The fact that they were disabled means that they were at one point enabled which means that Facebook members were put at risk. Making a users data opt-in instead of opt-out seems like a no brainer to me but of course there's probably advertising and money involved somewheres which is why this hasn't been implimented yet.

Rumor: Comcast to Offer 100Mb Service Soon
Posted 05/30/2009 at 07:32:59pm
Like anything else I guess I kind of expect to pay out the nose for the largest, fastest, best service or product that a company offers. On the other hand, once Comcast offers a 100mb service I expect to see the price of their 50mb service drop to a more reasonable level.
lol, I can always dream huh?

Since when did $40 become entry level for a mouse?
What are the $14.99 and $19.99 Microsoft mice that I see on store shelves in Staples andother retailers then?
Capcom: Digital Distribution “Absolutely” More Important than Retail Game Sales
Posted 03/05/2009 at 08:22:36am
"“Absolutely. No question in my mind. Digital distribution on PC ties directly into our strategy"
I don't that Gamestop really cares that much about PC game sales since they don't sell used PC games. Now if Capcom were to start selling it's console games via digital distribution it would be something comepletely different and Gamestop would have reason to worry.
