I'm still running a 7950 because with my computers (one with only an agp slot and a laptop) it's the best that I can do and I must say, the laptop runs crysis at 12-24fps which is good enough for me

They should make this into an all-in-one solution for a laptop. GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-fi, HD Radio and maybe even a tv tuner. be a cheap and energy efficient solution for netbook for sure

That's why you can plug it in an external display. I personally wouldn't do "alot" of gaming on the go but while at home, I could hook it up to a larger monitor or tv and play.

I really wanted to get a gaming desktop, more like a dual i7 core server, but I might just get this since the battery life of my current Alienware laptop (listed below) has such a battery that once you unplug it, it dies.

Any Wi-FI spot, or even fm radio waves, would work. It just needs to "see" them and convert extra, unused power from the signals

It could be possible in the near future to use this to basically eliminate small electronic's needs for battery's. Let's say you own an older MP3 like my old MyMusix that uses 1 AA battery every ~12 hours. That's 1.5v being the equivilant of about 45mW of power. Not saying it could run without end but in a good area like downtown where you can easily find several dozen open wi-fi spots, the battery could charge it's self to be within 98% efficiancy. Now that's a long run time before you turn it off for an hour to charge it.

White Paper: OLED Screens

Posted 11/04/2009 at 01:12:59am

If it means the technology will be cheaper, then I would. Btw, I have a 52" DLP tv, mainly because I bought it off a friend for $250, and despite a small problem, it's a better picture then anything I've seen, other then lcd's or Oled. Another thing about plasma screens, they only last 5 years before you have to replace the plasma, which is expensive. If you're unlucky enough to be at a high altitude, you have to replace it every 2 years, no, that's not a joke, but it's still funny.
