Hee Haw! Hee Haw!
Karmic Koala Causes Anger and Frustration amongst Early Adopters

That's impossible. Linux and especially Ubuntu is the end all and be all of OS's. Linux would never never have issues with drivers.
My Windows 7 64 bit install last week was awful. It took an agonizing 27 minutes to install and unfortunately didn't require that I spend time searching for new drivers and software patches, and it setup my home network automatically, recognizing my other computers and depriving me of the chance to spend time making connections and reading manuals. Curse you MS.
I guess I should dig the old Mandriva box out of the basement, so I can spend some quality time with the command line.
How To: Use Your Windows 7 Upgrade Disk On a Fresh PC

I added a new hardrive to my box with Vista, did a clean install, created the Windows.old file and registered fine. I copied all of my files and am good to go. I made a backup of the new install and I'm keeping a backup of the Vista install just in case I need a file.
Thanks
Mac Users Are Whiny Losers. Love, Maximum PC

Linux won't go anywhere in the mainstream until the command line is gone. The average pc or mac user doesn't have any idea how to use it and they don't want to learn the commands. They also don't want to go through so many steps to install driivers for newly released hardware.
To go mainsteam Linux will have to be dumbed down, and then it won't be any different than windows or osx at that point.
I use Ubuntu and Mandriva and I hate installing drivers for new hardware. Software installs are easy though.
AT&T Wireless Says it Will Ban P2P Users

I have a T1 line for my business so I can do as I please with it. An ISP isn't telling me how much data I can transfer and I don't have to worry about down time. Speed doesn't really matter with day to day business transactions or file transfers between offices even when they are large. The security and reliability I have with my provider make it worth the price, my business is always open.
I don't like theives. The majority of P2P users are downloading illegally. A few thousand people downloading Linux distros are not the folks that AT&T and the others are complaining about. It's the users that download movies, music, and pirated software. Check the torrent sites and see what's available and what the most popular downloads are.
I download Ubuntu everytime there is a new version and I can do it without P2P.

It is amazing how people that can be smart enough to build a business and make themselves rich will do stupid stuff like sink money into a dying brand or company.

Stop whining and get yourself a T1 connection. If you are using that much bandwidth you get what you deserve,
when they cut you off. You can pay for the connection with all the money you are saving by stealing movies and music over P2P.
Microsoft Gives XP Owners First Look at Mojave

I've not had any problems with my Vista laptop and haven't had any of my friends complain about it either.
I still run XP on my desktop because I'm too lazy to upgrade it.
The only people I see complaining about Vista are the magazine writers. Maximum PC, PC World, CPU, et al.
As for Linus I tried Madriva and Ubuntu and found the lacking. They worked with my hardware but I can't play mainstream games on them and I don't have the time or desire to learn to use the command line.
And one of the previous commenters was right, for the most part freeware is crap. CCleaner being an exception.
Microsoft may have its faults but it opened up the use of computers for everyone.
