Even with this illegitamite bestbuy help, there is no way in hell that a 1300$ apple is going to cost less than a 400$ pc. Frankly if you can get the comparably good pc for less, then it will cost less, since it is comparably good, and will thus lead to comparably equal problems on the pc as it would on the comparable mac.

I dont think that it has anything to do with women being pushed harder for marks. out of my sister and i, my parents always pushed me farther. i still believe that it has alot to do with the number of women in sciences in genral. It could have something to do with the stereotypes applied to the sciences, or perhaps women are more interested in the artistic side of things. Of all of my friends (50% naturally being female) most of the girls seem to be quite in tune with their artistic side(although some are terrible, they still seem atracted to it). Perhaps this study is overlooking many of the more artistic sides of computers in general, like graphics designe, or many other computational artistic persuits (gaming being one of the less female of these genras)

I do know quite a few people who think that macs are pretty. The problem is that there are also pretty pc's. Have you seen the mods, not to mention all the new laptops with custom designs. The only mac custom design is black or white, and how big do you want the logo. Just look at the vaios. PCs are already invading that market, and frankly, though most ppl may think macs are pretty, im positive that one can find(or mod) a pc to look alot cooler.

how are netbooks stupid??? ppl need to carry a computer with them, and if they already have a good enough home pc, a netbook is perfect. its small cheap and simple. Youre not likely to be doing anything that intensive on the road, and if you will then spend the extra 400$ on a regular laptop.

I see this in high school. A very small portion of the electro-tech class consists of girls. Im not sure why this is though. Maybe its just general interest. In my higher level classes, there are about a 50/50 spit in the sciences. However, in the I.B program(higher level program) there are about double the number of girls.

I think this is not limited to computer sciences but rather to all sciences. Why its declining in computer sciences spcifically i dont know, but there  seems to be fewer women in sciences in general.

Im still curious about that antec 300. how does it compare to the 900? any other budged concious cases that would fit in this category?

btw, forgot to ask. Any coments on the case Im interested in buyin and was going for the antec 900. How does the 300 compare. It is after all, more budget concious.

Wow. I have to say, we've come a long way in the past few months. especially in gpus. I bought an 8800gt a few months ago and it costed at least 50$ more than the stuff here. The only thing i think i did better on was the cpu (intelq6600) and i still spent 1400$ total(600$ more)! If only I'd known.
