Zune HD v4.3 Fireware Update Brings Several New Improvements
Posted 11/08/2009 at 01:02:02am
I haven't tried it personally, but the Zune and ZuneHD are supported devices for www.audible.com and may be worth a look if you haven't checked it out already.
I like the updates, the input prediction is pretty nice. Does this mean Audiosurf Tilt is coming soon? Can't wait.

Ultimate Mobile OS Showdown: iPhone vs Android vs webOs vs Blackberry vs Windows Mobile vs Symbian
Posted 07/17/2009 at 06:59:35pm
I second this, the Ovi store is new and similar to Windows Mobile S60 applications are easier found with a Google search than an Ovi store search. You mention Pandora and Last.FM, I'm not sure about Pandora, but Mobbler is a Last.FM client that is absolutely fantastic, and completely free. Just one example of a great application that isn't in the Ovi store.
Full disclosure, I'm a Nokia 5800 XM user and have been an S60 user for years.
How to Stay in Sync Across Multiple Gadgets and Desktops
Posted 07/14/2009 at 06:24:49pm
I think I may give Microsoft's Live Sync a try to keep my saved game files synced up across multiple computers (desktop and laptop). I have a sever that stays on all the time and if I could automate this process that would simply be fantastic, looking into it this weekend. Thanks Maximum PC!
Nokia's Ovi Joins Its App Store Brethren
Posted 05/26/2009 at 06:45:54pm
Unless I'm just that awesome (hint: I'm not) the Ovi Store should be working in the US. I have it running on my unlocked 5800 XM (on AT&T) on the PC website, mobile website and the Ovi Store app. Buying items is possible, although carrier billing is not available, you have to provide credit card info.
Lenovo Crashes Atom Platform Party with World's First Ion-Based Netbook
Posted 05/25/2009 at 01:27:07pm
I wonder how this stacks up in 'performance' with Lenovo's S10, which my wife owns and uses. The graphics are what get my interest. I do a lot of business travel, as well as my wife, and I would like to be able to throw down with Guild Wars or TF2 in my hotel room at night, but don't particularly appreciate lugging around my 15" laptop. A nice 12" netbook/notebook (whatever) for this price is appealing to me. I may consider this come June.
Maximum Windows: Take Control of Your Desktop with Five Free Apps!

I'm impressed with this list, I've downloaded two out of five (Switcher and MaxTo) and see myself using these a LOT. Pretty good, usually I see these and think "wow neat" but never use them. Thanks for the tips.
AMD Strikes Back with Phenom II -- Full Analysis and First Benchmarks!
Posted 01/08/2009 at 08:41:12pm
This is good stuff. First off, competition is good for the consumer and secondly I own an AM2+ board, so I expect to drop and roll at some point in the near future. Good work AMD, keep up the momentum and make some comebacks like ATI has done with their latest GPUs.
Microsoft Takes Aim at Apple with Zune Price Cuts, Software Push
Posted 11/21/2008 at 07:10:17am
I'll come right out and say it I own one of the poo bricks (30gb brown Zune) and love it. My wife (then fiance) got it for me when I graduated, which was when they originally came out. Since then I have enjoyed several significant software upgrades and haven't felt a bit obsolete with new players hitting the market. Maybe that could be seen as a bad thing, but I think of it differently. I use my Zune daily and haven't had any issues with the unit breaking and love the wireless features. I have a speaker/dock in my living room that I set the Zune on when I get home from work and it immediately starts syncing with my PC, removing old podcasts putting on new, updating music, photos, etc. Love it.
Exclusive: ATI To Give Away Free GPU-based Encoder And Says It will Beat Nvidia to 40nm

Unfortunate that it will only be supported on their 4xxx series cards and beyond. Makes my HD3870 sad and lonely.
