Intel Under Fire in New York over Antitrust Accusations
Posted 11/04/2009 at 12:50:14pm
If the suit that is being filed against them now is the same as AMD filed but from a different source I would be watching AMD they could be the ones doing all the underhanded stuff because they are falling behind and by spending money on court fees and all that goes with it would slow Intel's R&D, and production there by giving AMD a perverbial chance to catch up. I am not saying Intel is perfect or not guilty, but come on most of the claims are coming from AMD and people they seem to have under their belt.
Gmail Plays Hide-and-Seek Over the Weekend, Users Not Amused

If it was a person using the email for work I can understand the irritation. As for just home users there are other forms of communication, cell phones, land lines, actually getting out of the house and going to see someone. I used to be stuck to my computer but after a while it does get boring. I have found that not being tied to my computer all the time is the best thing that has happend. Pick up some hobbies, because if you can sit there and tell me how long your google email has been down you need something else to do.
Acer Confident it Will Achieve Sales Goals of 40 Million in 2010

Have you tried Windows 7 out on anything yet? It works with a ton of things right out of the box, I have been messing with it since beta and it has always found everything of mine even an outdated TV tuner card. You may want to try it before knocking it. As far as the laptop goes when you bought it where ever you bought it from should have had a tag or disclaimer somewhere saying it was a Refurb that would be your problem as you didn't look into that fully before your purchase.

I like the article and it is helpful for the true ones, that being said, I do have a problem calling them registry hacks. It isn't a hack it is simply editing the registry and nothing more.

I would prefer to have a touch screen monitor than mess with that mouse.

Did you read the article or just comment. They didn't say anything about an app being added, they are looking at status messages and having a database program doing a function checking for specific things.
Study Finds Windows 7 isn't Faster to Boot than Vista

You must have got something on there or messed something up if Vista is more stable than 7. Windows 7 beta was more stable than any version of Vista I have ever used.
Study Finds Windows 7 isn't Faster to Boot than Vista
Posted 10/08/2009 at 12:54:09pm
I tested this on my home machine and got the following.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Cold boot: 48 seconds til I can open something and use it.
Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit
Cold boot: 1 minute 36 seconds
System:
Intel C2D @ 3GHz
DDR2 @ 1066MHz
ASUS P5Q SE/R
400GB SATA II HDD
OCZ 550 Watt PSU
Did the install and tested from a cold boot. Boot times are tested from when I pushed the button until the task manager came up and was lower than 10% usage on the CPU.
Edit: I am also running Windows 7 on my, for lack of a better term, production computer and it has been on there since the RC came out and the boots times are with in the same area + ot - 2 seconds. I have a Mini-ITX box that has a dual core Atom processor in it and that even boots Windows 7 in less than a minute.
