Newspaper Tracks Down Anonymous Commenter, Gets Him Fired Just for Fun
Posted 11/18/2009 at 07:27:13pm
Putting aside the fact the the fool from the school reposted the comment.
When you get down to it, it was Kurt that is in the wrong. I would think its safe to say that on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch web site, when posting a comment as an anonymous poster. They agree to keep your info jus that "anonymous". Not only has he violated the privacy of the poster but he has done a big discredit to the paper it self.
If I were the poster I would sue the paper for those reasons and have Kurt fired as well. Then see what his smile looks like after that.
The fact is if you tell posters that they can be anonymous then you better keep your word. All Kurt needed to do to keep his feeling from being hurt was to ban the IP.
The Best and Worst States for Broadband Internet

I live in oregon and have been very happy with Comcast. I pay for their 22 Mbps service and always get at least 23 Mpbs. I can go to sites like fileplanet and download file from them and max out my bandwitdh. Thats great. I can even stream movie from Netflixs at 22 Mbps. I thnk Comcast does need work in some areas.
I find this study to be a load of crap. In Oregon alone comcast offers speeds up to 50 Mbps and even in washington I know they offer the same. Hell my father has the 50 Mbps service for his work.
Supreme Courts Greenlights Cloud-enabled DVRs
Posted 07/02/2009 at 01:59:20pm
One of the reason this would have been a problem before is for privacy implications. If you are using the cable providers servers for your DVR service then they will know what and how long you are watching programs. Also networks don't make money on the programs that they make for you to watch. It's the 15 mins of ads you watch during the program that generates their income. If the network can't make sure that your forced to watch the ads then why would a company want to buy ads space with them.
The Pirate Bay Verdict: Guilty with Jail Time and 3.6M Fines!

Great job to Sweden to screwing over the rest of the world with this verdict. If this verdict does not get smacked down then they have just paved the way for media group to sue ISP’s. After all according to this verdict the ISP provides the bandwidth for which everyone gets their illegal content from.
Sweden could end up forcing ISP’s to monitor the type of traffic on their pipes and order to protect themselves from law suits like this.
People should sue Sweden from vehicle hit-and-runs because Sweden provided the roads that they are getting ran over on.
