Q2 2009 Chip Sales Increase, Thanks to Atom

This comment isn't really for this post but I don't know where else to turn. I got banned from the forums and I'm not exactly sure why.

Earlier today, I tried to reply to a legitimate question that was asking how to stretch 4:3 games to fit a widescreen monitor. This reply had a link to a site called widescreen gaming forum and I posted it because it has helped me many times in enjoying 4:3 games in widescreen. I got home from work to find that the post was no longer there. I thought that maybe I forgot to hit the submit button so I rewrote the same reply. Now, when I try to get to the forums, it tells me I am banned and to contact the webmaster or board administrator. I cannot do that as it won't even let me log into my account to PM a moderator.

My username on the forums is msnight04 and I really hope that somebody sees this who can help me. I love these forums and have learned a lot from them. I'd hate to lose this resource. I'm sorry for any mistake I may have made.

I really wish more companies were like this and stayed true to what they believe, even at the brink of a lawsuit. I am proud of them and so should everybody who has some sort of interest in Telenor!

How-To: Optimize Your Windows Profile and Media Storage with a SSD

Posted 05/13/2009 at 04:01:45pm

By moving the profiles off of the SSD, you are ensuring that no media (i.e. pictures, music, videos) are being stored there by default. The purpose of the SSD in this article was to increase performance while using Windows and any installed programs. The user profiles just take up limited space for additional software to be installed. You need to remember that the SSD used in this article is only 64GB and only having a few videos stored on that drive could easily fill it up.

Travelmate USB Power Adapter Gives Your Gadgets Power on the Go

Posted 01/19/2009 at 06:54:16pm

Apple has been slowly taking out support for iPods to charge via Firewire. If the pin layout on the iPod adapter is the same as the iPod firewire cables, then it will not work. I recently got an iPod nano 4th gen and it won't charge off of my Alpine cable for my stereo in my car. I did some research and found that this generation of iPod nanos won't charge via connectors designed for the firewire cables. This is actually a major issue and many 3rd party peripherals (speaker docks, fm transmitters, etc.) will not work. I have not figured out yet whether the problem lies with Apple physically removing the pins from the port on the iPods or if it could be fixed with a firmware update. In the meantime, I understand how aggravated this situation may cause you but there is nothing that we can do about it except complain to Apple. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
