ATI Mangles the Competition: 8 Hot New Video Cards Reviewed
Posted 11/17/2009 at 12:05:26pm
but money is a major issue. besides, i had just got my hands on an extra hd 4870 earlier this year to set up for crossfire.
although eyefinity looks to be cool, it is a shame that the technology won't work for the 48xx series cards! why cannot i have my driver recognize my two monitors as a single panel instead of one desktop extended onto another panel? i would LOVE to have my games that recognize multi-monitor actually be able to use the function!
Nvidia Bets on New "Fermi" Graphics Chip

"But if we are behind a couple of months, it's not going to matter."
it is going to matter. a few months of market saturation from their competitor means that nvidia cannot have any delays, the part has to deliver right out of the box, and the price better be on par with the (expected) performance increase over their competitor. it will be interesting.

Six Monitors, One Video Card. Hands-On with AMD's Eyefinity
Posted 09/10/2009 at 05:51:26pm
what was the os they were using to showcase the game?
curious, cause my experience with vista and windows 7 has not allowed me to span a game to both monitors during gameplay (burnout paradise being the only game i have that allows multiple monitor gameplay). and from my reading on the subject, it is not a limitation of the game but rather the os.
it sure would be cool to have that big ass desktop, though
Left 4 Dead 2 Racist? Valve: “Huh?”
Posted 07/31/2009 at 12:01:47pm
first off, the game is fictitious.
secondly, it is a backward step for everyone. if there were no black characters portrayed then valve would be accused of racism for not including black characters. since black characters are included and some happen to be zombies, then valve is accused of racism. correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't two of the main protagonists black people, forgive me for being politically incorrect: African American?

installed the os, antivirus, and catalyst cc in about 17 minutes. win 7 even had drivers for my hauppauge tv tuner so i didn't have to get the disc or download drivers--cool! it's a whole different monster compared to being run virtualized.
had absolutely no trouble with the install... win 7x64, vista home premium x64. and ubuntu x64 (installed inside vista)
