This article was a pretty convenient way to catch up on it. Thanks.

Blizzard’s Next MMO to be “Significantly Different” from WoW
Posted 09/02/2009 at 10:42:27am
I don't believe Mr. Sams was actually thinking users choosing one blizzard product over another was cause for concern. Having read the article, I'm under the assumption that he was making a joke.
Y'know...
A lol. A funny. A 'Ha ha.'

Texas Judge Says Microsoft Can't Sell Word

Would this ruling affect any other pieces of software? I use Open Office on a regular basis. I wonder if that would fall under the same patent.

Official Windows 7 Upgrade Chart

Upon looking at this chart, the thing I thought of first was this:

Google Believes Mobile Web Browsers Will Supplant App Stores
Posted 07/18/2009 at 07:49:57pm
When web applications become equal-to-or-better-than traditional software, sure.
When a hulu-like service works well in a mobile device web browser, sure.
When javascript and html can compete with technologies like directx and openGL, sure.
When javascript and html can be used to create industry-standard video games, sure.
When developers become comfortable sending source, rather than compiled, code to end users, sure.
The top four will happen. The last one simply will not.

China Testing Green Dam for Mac OSX and Still Pushing Ahead Despite Security Warnings

Is the Chinese government requiring this 'feature' to be on every computer, or just new ones? Is it going to be illegal to remove this software?

Microsoft Gets Rid of Vomit Ad; Stomachs Everywhere are Relieved

Just watched the video, then the rest of the ads. Pretty good stuff.
Can't vouch for the browser, though. Haven't had the chance to use it.

Battlefield Heroes Salutes Michael Jackson with Free Costumes
Posted 07/02/2009 at 11:00:36am
...in a grocery store. Some old Micheal Jackson song got started on their radio.
Her: I JUST LOVE THIS SONG! Don't you!!?
Me: I don't listen to this guy anymore.
Her: Why not?
Me: This guy's a child molester.
Her: No he isn't!
Me: I'm convinced he is. The door on the courtroom was a revolving door for celebrities. One could get away with almost anything under those circumstances.
Her: Well, he did that AFTER he made this song!
Me: For me, the fact that he did it killed my interest in earlier works.
Her: Well, y'know what? It's okay, because he's micheal jackson!
I had no response for it then. I have no response for it now.
Billy Mays died recently, he's well known. Hell, he's likely been seen more times on TV than Micheal Jackson. And y'know what, I don't think he ever molested any kids!!!
I wanna play Battlefield Heroes in a blue shirt and Khakis.

Steep Discounts Propel Windows 7 Pre-Orders to Top of Amazon Sales Chart
Posted 06/29/2009 at 10:57:09am
I've been using Ubuntu for the last few years, and I'm not completely familiar as to how upgrades are handled on windows anymore. The fact that pre-orders for the upgrade's so cheap piques my interest, though.
I've got an old computer, running it's original OEM of windows XP. Would just having the product key from that install be enough to get the upgrade to install onto my current machine?
