Happened to me. Wasn't at all surprised when I unchecked the box. Apple can suck my bi-zalls.

Is it just me, or does this seem incomplete? Like...it just ends. I keep looking for the "next" button?

Nice one. I don't think Chuck Bronson would last very long in Central Park.

Blizzard: StarCraft II and Diablo III Are Getting LAN-Like “Solutions”

Posted 08/25/2009 at 07:00:53am

Sounds like a good way to do it...for 99% of the population. Unfortunately, somebody like myself is still shit out of luck. I used to play Sins of a Solar Empire games with my buddy while we were deployed to Iraq, with zero internet connectivity...so this is still kind of a bummer. We have the pirates to blame!

White Paper: Surge Suppression

Posted 08/19/2009 at 05:59:48pm

I've always wondered, if I have something super valuable to protect, or I only have access to low quality surge protectors, would plugging two surge protectors in series provide more protection than one alone?

How To: Install Windows 7 from a USB Key!

Posted 08/12/2009 at 03:50:13am

Hmmm...well as mentioned below, I fixed the "access is denied" problem and bootsect appears to have run correctly.

But my Asus N10 netbook refuses to recognize either my Kingston thumbstick or my WD external harddrive as a bootable device. Neither will show up in the BIOS, the only option is "removable device," which it skips right through and starts booting off the internal drive.

Bummer, guess I'll need an optical drive...

How To: Install Windows 7 from a USB Key!

Jeez I wish Norm had been clearer about running cmd.exe as an Administrator. I left clicked it instead of the two ways he suggested to run the file, and then spent an hour trying to figure out why I was getting "access is denied" errors. I figured being logged onto Windows 7 as an admin account was enough...it's not.

Splinter Cell: Conviction Delayed… Again

Great to hear about a company delaying a game to get it right rather than pushing crap out the door to us! I'm now optimistic about this game...

Ask the Doctor: Reduce My Ping!

Posted 07/14/2009 at 01:34:13am

This post peaked my interest, because I'm an avid online gamer who had to move to Guam for my job. Guam is directly in between Japan and Australia. My ping is now a solid 350 ms in World of Warcraft, and 200 ms in Team Fortress 2. What a bummer, man, it feels like I'm back in the 90's. Unfortunately, the other players are not....

Fact: Australian servers are actually slower than East Coast US. Weird!
