Apple Trying to Out-Obnoxious Microsoft with New Ad

Posted 05/17/2009 at 06:14:46pm

I am a vista user and all i can say it is going 2 years strong 2 years long and havent had a crash or viruses ever since i installed it. Furthermore my system is overclocked and using aircooling. It even survives on the hottest days in summer, though i do worry about the temps when its a hot day but it keeps going strong. Not a single crash.

I have 8GB of ram DDR2 quad core processor overclocked up to 3.3ghz. all this at a price of 1500 + tax. Very happy with my build. With that said i could careless about apple commercials.

PC Gaming Alliance Releases Optimistic State of the Industry Report

Posted 03/29/2009 at 04:36:23pm

i haven't upgraded and updated my drivers in a while its not really a hassle thing to do. Keep in mind consoles are a fixed hardware that really shows comparing to a pc. I personally prefer to play all my games at 1080p and what i can control of how much details i want. On a console you can't really do that. Driver updates optimizes the performance of your gpu.

How do you know if your 360/Ps3 is running at 8x MSAA?? you can't tell because only the developers know what the limits are on these proprietary hardware.

My pc monitor supports hdmi, vga, dvi. Having a big ass hdtv is not always better. 22inch is the sweetspot for me especially if your monitor is made by asus with 2ms response time with the contrast ratio 1000:1.

HDTV is designed for overall entertainment and not just for gaming like asus does. Not too mention when viewing HD content it looks great on my asus monitor. Don't need a 42" to get the best experience.

PC Gaming Alliance Releases Optimistic State of the Industry Report

Posted 03/28/2009 at 09:55:40pm

This is a interesting report because i find myself not only playing games on my pc more but also using it as a multimedia needs. Hulu,Myspace videos and episodes, youtube, net flix. Added bonus is i can minimize my game and do a quick email or quick im reply without having to exit the game and when i am done i just go back to the game.

Key thing here is pc's are serious multitasking platform. Also hardware to build a kick ass gaming rig is really cheap. For example a 4870 1gb GDDR5 now cost like a budget card but without the "budget performance

This card will run all of these games that are out now with flying colors i have a asus 1080P 21.5" monitor.

I Currently have a 3870 512 which i have been using for 1 year and 3 months and still going. But as a pc gamer and pc enthusiast i love new technology so soon i will be replacing my card.

Linux Celebrates 15th Birthday

Posted 03/17/2009 at 12:23:50am

I think Linux is going to have its own platform such as the net tops and mobile devices as we are starting to realize that most people just care for the basic stuff and that is what linux does is getting stuff done.

I look at windows as a gaming platform or just like a console except its much better than a console. 360 shares with the pc with games for windows. This is where the future of windows is going it is becoming more of a gaming os than anything. Its already a gaming os. Of course windows also has open source software too. I dont mind open source software just not the os.

cheers

Should Microsoft Windows Go Open-Source?

Posted 02/05/2009 at 11:34:30pm

i dunno about windows being completely open source. I mean windows is not completely closed source either. I think windows is fine where its at. the consumer just got too picky these days and want to try alternatives which ultimately might cause the marketshare to drop some but wouldn't drop completely though. Sides 90% is too much for microsoft to handle anyways need to chop off the excess marketshare lol.

NewsI don't think bandwiths caps are going to have any impact on DD on
Survey Says: 47% of PC Game Sales Are Digital

Posted 01/31/2009 at 03:29:24pm

These caps are to ease the flow of traffice if any but in any case who is going to download 250gb of month anyways. I will never exceed those bandwith caps at all per month. Now if they start to reduce it like 30gb of month or less. Then people are going to complain to their isp because the future is hd content streaming. So my cap per month for me with comcast is 250gb and thats more than enough per month. I am not going to buy 250gb worth of games per month lol.

Mortal OS Kombat: Linux versus Windows 7

Posted 01/29/2009 at 11:25:40pm

well that might be true about apple gaining grounds but apparently did not take long to have a virus on a pirated copy of iworks. This is where it all starts. As of MS goes i think the new people in their HQ has caused the company to be aware of whats going on. MS is not stupid. Whether this monopoly was a bad thing or not i never have problems with alot of their products. Especially in the gaming front.
