Blue Screen of Death Survival Guide: Every Error Explained
Posted 05/01/2009 at 10:16:23am
Sounds like your boot files for windows is messed up all you reall have to do is recover them... the recovery disc isn't always helpful but there are some free programs out there that will repair those files. There's a way to do it by hand too but if your not tech savy you should just reload your machine with a fresh install. I would suggest backing up your data as best you can in a few different locations. It's too easy to get your hands on a cheap external just make sure you format the new one to NTFS unless you're still useing something before XP. It's alot easier to recover the data when you drop it. Alot of HDD companies will ship them formatted FAT32 and that'sa not what you want... Unless, like I said before, you don't have an OS that supports it... But not alot of people run 98 any more. Sad, really miss that one...

Dell Laptops to Feature Samsung Encrypted SSDs
Posted 04/30/2009 at 07:33:16am
I don't have any expirience with Dell or any of the companies that make all this junk. I've never owned anything from them and don't plan on it. I did buy my wife a cheap ass laptop though once. She's already loaded it up with viruses and malware. I'm sure she'll be upset when I have to purge it when I get home.
I'm sure they'll put a gay reset button on there. Besides that i know a few linux programs that likes decrypting things... it's really not a big thing and to charge people for extra bs like this is just a way to pull more money from the eager spenders.

Microsoft Targets Apple, the Response? “A PC is no Bargain!”
Posted 04/24/2009 at 09:40:44am
A mac is to most people a cadilac of computers... All you have to do is roll it out the door and drive it down the road.... show it off if you want.... You have money to spend right? Maybe get your rims done or something small but you cannot really change what it is or how it functions without loosing the brand name.
A PC is of course the hot rod, sports car and cheap family car that you drive (or cruise) down the street... you either hide your face or burn your tires...
Dad may try to put a bit more under the hood of that family car to show off too but it'll still be just a family car.
Sports cars are fun.. they come with cool stuff but they're still prebuilt and that fact slows them down. It forces you to specific upgradable parts that limit you're abilities to blow the doors off every one else.
You also have the guys that love to go from the ground up and build womthing to be proud of. Show it off you know you can... In the long run it costed more then all the others combined but you don't care.... check out it's times on the track. It has every one beat. So there are a few ticks and sometimes doesn't go all the way, that's ok it's the other 99% of the time that it rules the track that matters to you

How's This For Big? Texas Memory Systems Offers 5TB SSD Rack

What does it say about redundency and raid stuff. I only see alot of storage but no way any real IT guys would buy it for their companies just to have it go south and get fired for being a retard. I though SSD were having problems with RAID.

How's This For Big? Texas Memory Systems Offers 5TB SSD Rack

Set this jewel up as your home network file share/everything and whipe the drool off daily.... I /cry when I realize that most of the cool stuff I'll only get to ever play with at work.... I really doubt they would give us a budget for one of these. It's so sad...
Of course No one would ever need anything this large in their home but every one understants it's not need that drives us... it's greed and desire.
Max stop taunting us with all these wonderful toys we're only human....

Ask the Doctor: Boot XP from USB
Posted 04/24/2009 at 02:47:58am
To load up a system and recover data we use Winternals alot for XP. It mounts itself on your exsisting XP that's loaded on the HDD then allows you to repair registry and recover deleted or damadged/lost data on your drives. There are plenty of free programs out there that do this already. Most of witch fit onto a normal CD and don't require even a GIG. I cannot link anything for you but I sure if you goodle ERD or look for a few linux apps you should come out with a good boot disk that will recover what ever you need for what ever you;ve done to your machine on the software side. We run PC Check to test the hardware side of the house. It's not that hard to find anything you need... most of it is good open source stuff that people have made for themselves and posted for free.
All in all it's just time really. I would suggest a fresh install and then ghost it or make a good image to bring your computer back to where you had perfect. Keep a good external of all your important downloads and drivers so you can recover alot easier. Having a back up of the back up may sound crazy but it's alway good to have redundancy.
If any of this still didn't sink in and you still want to put XP on your usb drive then google it... I'm sure theres plenty og people out there trying to do the same thing.

Time Warner Working to Shut Down Local Providers of Affordable Broadband
Posted 04/24/2009 at 02:17:41am
It worked before... We should all step out aginst our big corperate ISP's and make the government do something about all this BS. I see this and I wonder why doesn't the rest of the US have 10mb up and down... Seriously we should be up to par on all of this except new houses and out of the way places that are impossible to get to. I say use the bill to lay fiber and tell the companies to get on the ball or get a new job because they're not doing it right in the first place. Most of the big cable companies don't even have good service in the first place so why would any one bother with them? Because they hold all the strings in their area. Playing people like puppets. They've already got all our money I think it's time to step up and ask for real service. Instead of trying to oust the competition they should get off their lazy ass and compete. Provide us with what you owe us. It's been over 10 years and we're still stuck on all the same sh*t they started with. TWC is just the biggest example of greed and lethargy that describes the whole industry. They drag their feet because they have no competition to compete with. We should demand a change and not roll over and lets these pigs root more money from any of us.
Sorry but this has got to stop. We have to do something as a whole to get anything done or it's just not going to go any where. If we let them win this then they will just steam roll everything else and before too long we'll be back with capped bandwith and not have any other service to roll with.

The Game Boy: Why Six Days in Fallujah’s Doing It Wrong, and How We Can Make Things Right
Posted 04/22/2009 at 08:15:44am
If we poke our head out of the sand box and look around it's not hard to notice what a few people may say about us at home. Wile I could never delude myself enough to belive we are over here for any respectable reasons, I did joined with all intentions to protect and serve every person. I have no doubt that not all of these people would want or need help. Some would abuse our loyalty as a soldier to their own ends to get what they want.
I chose to protect this nation in an attempt to keep it free and gave up all rights to that freedom wile serving. We give up our civilian life to allow people to make any comment they so choose. I would never hold what they say aginst them because they simply lack the facts that require them to pass good judgment on each and every soldier. We are soldiers doing the jobs that have been handed to us from a long list of officials. Speaking out aginst the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force shows a lack of understanding. Yes, we have been given a task or tasks to complete. We complete those tasks in a way that meets situational requirments.
I never have believed in politics or most politicians and so you may ask why I even joined at all. I joined because I still believe in the United States as a whole and the dreams it was built on. We see every act and hear every voice but move on. We are here because we choose this and we're not the type to just quit when someone doesn't agree. We live in a nation that agrees to disagree about everything(except ISP caps). Asking life to wait wile every one comes to an agreement would only bring things to our door step instead of over seas.
In the end of of it all I had no real direction for this outside of a small ammount of pride I get for serving. Like my fellow soldiers, we chose to protect our way of life instead of complaining about it.
Thankyou for your time and support.
