Oh I feel fine, thank you. Do you guys feel ok? That's what I'm getting at here...an Apple article shows up and the haters come out of the woodwork with the same garbage (Macs suck...OS X sucks...overpriced). There's got to be better things to hate Apple for. Why not mix it up a bit...hate Apple for better reasons. You already hate them...just think of more interesting reasons now.

Plus the guy at the end of this thread: Massive market share does not = Quality. Not even by a longshot.

They couldn't do that even if they really wanted to. Not with their stellar track record. They'd never get away with it.

Interesting. Very interesting. So these concepts are...bad? No viruses. Yeah I can see how that would suck...nothing draining resources and requiring extra software. It just works. Ooh yeah...that's rough. I prefer to start the day off figuring out BSODs cause of corrupt drivers. Always a good time. Unobtrusive aesthetics. Clunky and cumbersome FTW! Big screens. Yes...all bad things...the last of which is also a big deal for WinPC buyers...especially in the laptop department.

I love the part at the end about WebTV and that it was a Microsoft product.

I'll have to try that next time I'm desperate. It's like calling me a poopy-head or something. I mean really...that's it?That's all you got? My "handle" speaks volumes of my absurdity? Bravo. Well played. I guess. Also when was the last time anyone used the term "handle"? This isn't MaximumCB. That's two doors down, good buddy. In the 21st century the kids call them "screen names".

Also if OS X sucks...then why do you want Apple to make it open (which it already is)?  Kind of absurd if you ask me...and apparently I know a thing or two about absurdity.

Sneaky Windows 7 Zero-Day Bug Confirmed

...Except you could still use Snow Leopard to its fullest if you didn't have a guest account to screw things up. Oh and that bug is fixed anyway so...moot point. Apparently Win7 is not the bulletproof juggernaut you all claim it to be. Happy browsing...oooh...sorry. Oh come on now...don't be that way! You guys did have a field day with that guest account bug in Snow Leopard. Im just returning the favor...and further propagating the myth that Mac users are smug elitists. Its nothing personal.

Ok. You keep telling yourself that. All of it. Go on...feed it to yourself again.

Inferior OS? Ok...personally I disagree...but I admit Win7 is good stuff. Better than OS X? No. Not even close. Am I in the minority? You bet. Do I care? Nope. Am I a fanboy(i)? maybe but not in the same sense that you guys are to Microsoft. Ever read any of your own posts?

However it we want to talk about getting desperate...lets look at Microsoft's marketing of Win7: Win7 parties!! Yay! Lame. Getting Fox to throw in all kinds of useless and random Win7 product placements thrown into things like their sports broadcasts and an attempt to get in good with the kids via Family Guy which is a show with a track record of being anti-Microsoft...or at least just having fun with them. Thats desperate.

Apple doesn't pull crap like that...anymore. They did in the 90's with an infomercial type format. They put up normal TV ads now that are actually well made...you don't have to agree with them...but they are selling products...contrary to what you guys are saying. The news shows them having record quarters...quarter after quarter. Microsoft is just barely eeking out better numbers than what they were the last several quarters...but still not where they'd like to be or should be. They're the ones in he corner...fighting for their lives. Read some news, MS Fanboy.

Ever hear of Darwin OS? Google it. Basis for Mac OS X and iPhone OS...yeah...open. Ever hear of intellectual property? Say you write some software (any kind of software) and then get it distributed to stores and the internet and someone takes your software and makes a business of not only buying it (legally of course), but hacking it to work with hardware it wasn't meant to work with and then reselling it with that hardware without your consent on the whole thing...and on top of that it totally violates a ton of laws and licensing regulations.

How fair is that to you? Nah, you wouldn't be pissed in the least.

Christ you people are so screwed up its not even funny. The second an Apple related post shows up...BOOM...dun dun dun dun...dun dun DUN..."when Apple exists and you don't like them and nobody will listen...you call the...*guns firing* ANTI-APPLE TEAM!" (Que rest of A-Team theme song). Get over yourselves.

As for Apple making the same mistakes that Microsoft is making...lets put something into perspective. Yes Apple fails...it fails a lot even. I can admit it...Mighty Mouse anyone? Heck the hockey puck mouse? MobileMe? Sure. There are plenty of others. However, Microsoft fails on a far greater level. They fail because they are a "Me-Too" company that can hardly innovate to save their lives...and when they do innovate...they can't market their innovation to save their lives. So nothing sells (Zune: The iPod Killer...that's been killing itself) So what do they do? They try to squash the competition with lawsuits claiming mostly ridiculous stuff. On top of that, Microsoft pieces together all kinds of technologies that aren't their own and half the time doesn't even ask for permission...like the whole Windows Activation deal where a company (z4 Technologies) successfully sued Microsoft for patent infringement.

Apple knows how to make products that people want. Sure they have their share of blunders too...but when price is a big deal in this economy...they're still selling products. Microsoft isn't. Zune? Nope. WinMo? HAHAHAHA! Oh come on thats funny! Windows 7? Maybe...but thats probably mostly based on you 1% of enthusiasts who build your machines and the rest are average consumers buying new machines cause they don't want to mess with the skidmark that is the upgrade process from XP to 7 but they need a new machine anyway so it works out. In fact, Microsoft is laying off people left and right again. Their hemorrhaging everything everywhere...and I'm afraid your precious Windows 7 (as amazingly good as it is...yeah I think its good...OMG) probably won't save the day. At least not by itself.

So to go back to the top...Apple isn't squashing competition a la Microsoft...they are squashing a company that knowingly and truly did infringe on its intellectual property...cracked it...then resold it on hardware it's really not meant to run well on...even though it probably does anyway (thats besides the point). Thats fair?!

I'm not asking anyone to love Apple...but seriously...get your heads out of your asses and get with it. Stop sitting there at your computer waiting to pounce on Apple related posts with the same usual anti-Apple garbage you all spew and at least get your facts right when you do post. Come on! Come up with some new stuff at least...hey go back to the whole Mac OS can't handle right-click thing...thats still pretty relevant...if this were the mid to late 90s and the current Mac OS was OS 8. Its so predictable its not even funny. Come on some of you still think OS X can't handle right-click. You know who you are!

...aaaaaannnnnnnddddddd flame-away!!

Has Windows 7 Already Lost to Mac OS X?

Posted 11/02/2009 at 02:32:30pm

Apple? Proprietary? Surely you jest. Apple's formats are generally developed with outside collaberation and are considered open-source. Microsoft, on the other hand stifles (or attempts to...often with hilarious results) open-source formats with its own rather crappy here it comes "proprietary" formats. And as for being a cult...the way you Windows fanboys all jump on the Mac-hate Express and believe everything Ballmer tells you is in and of itself quite cultish.

Mac-Style Clickable Trackpads on Their Ways to PC Portables

Posted 06/05/2009 at 12:52:06pm

You guys are so funny. Here's an idea: Crawl out of the stone age and try something new. These trackpads are odd at first to get used to, but once you figure it out, it's a piece of cake. The idea is to give much more trackpad space and still have a button. Have you seen some of the trackpads on just about all non-Apple laptops? They're tiny. Ridiculously tiny. Apple, whether you like it or not, has the right idea by giving the consumer a much more generous helping of trackpad which makes it and the computer easier to use. It's fun to watch the innovations that Apple puts out getting slowly gobbled up by the Windows OEMs. Even more fun than that is to predict how long it takes for an article about Apple tech to show up on MaxPC and to be completely bashed by all-hands on deck. When I see a headline with "Apple" or "Mac" in the title, I envision all you hardcore Windows PC users rushing to man your battle-stations. The comments are incredibly predictable and usually show just how close minded you people really are to true innovation. Maybe I drink the Steve Jobs kool-aid, but apparently so do the Windows OEMs.

Anchors aweigh! (Or for those of you who are nautically-challenged...flame away!)

How Much is a Top App Really Worth?

Posted 05/26/2009 at 11:47:04pm

I have a feeling that when iPhone OS v3.0 comes out, it will allow developers to make all of their apps lite/free (basically demo mode) and then allow the user to upgrade/unlock content right from the app (without switching out of the app to go to a website or the App Store) should they feel it is worth the money. As I see it, right now there should always be a lite/free version...because there's basically no getting money back (at least not easily if at all) and if your app sucks and people paid for it without being allowed to test it first...those people will make sure you know it sucks...and then nobody else will buy it. I hope you didn't quit your day job.

I just recently (about two months ago) got my iPod Touch and up until a couple days ago, I had not bought one app...all of them were the freebie variety. Many of the ones that have stayed on my iPod since the beginning have actually been purchased and the added features work just as advertised and run beautifully. Some of these are games and some are useful apps. I rigorously test apps before I even consider spending the money...and if I can't test it out...but the reviews are all five-stars...then I might be swayed if the price is right.

Developers just need to stop reinventing the wheel and adding one or two decent features and come up with truly innovative apps where the feature-sets blow away anything else. Let people try them out on a trial basis and they will upgrade if the apps are worth it. I think what gator says is true...most of the apps are useless novelty apps and the more novelty apps the novelty developers create...the more crowded the app store becomes...the harder it is for really good apps to pop up and get noticed.

It makes sense that not everyone is raking in the dough...some might be...but most probably will never see a decent check in the mail, sadly.
