The comparison to DOTA is interesting. Defense of the ancients warcraft III custom map is at this point probably more popular than warcraft III itself. A very addictive game. if demigod draws on that and fixes the problems mentions I just might pick it up.

Didn't say everyone would be happy about it, but I think this would help some. When I went through college I had financial assistance pay for any required materials for a course...

They require the ipod touch (recommend the iphone) because most of the students want one anyway and if it is a requirement they can use student loans and scholarships to pay for it. The apple laptop is probably because of the above. They think they are helping out the students, and for some of them it probably does.

It's a sci-fi MMORPG that came out over a year ago. I started playing it remembering how much I liked the orginal Ultima series (by richard gariott, same guy) but was very very unimpressed.
One of my major complaints was the lack of a first person perspective, but sadly this isn't nearly enough to persuade me to come back.
