Microsoft's Fears Realized: Netbooks are Killing Off Windows Laptops at an Alarming Rate
Posted 02/17/2009 at 11:48:32am
Actually, I see the contrary. I see so many people opting to buy netbooks pre-installed with Windows, or buying the Linux versions on the cheap and installing Windows themselves. I do agree that netbooks are hitting laptop sales, but the year of the penguin won't happen with netbooks.

Pro Gaming PC Buyer’s Guide -- Updated Prices and Parts For October 2008

I like the parts, but I feel I must dispute the case and CPU cooler. Why is MaximumPC the only one toting this choice for the NZXT case, and the CNP9300 is bested my several other coolers. I would try to name them all, but the comments section is only so big.
The rest of the parts are top notch. EVGA, OCZ, Intel C2D, etc, etc. NZXT and Zalman? They make some good parts, but the case and CPU cooler could be better IMHO.

I noticed you recommened Ubuntu Linux as a potential OS for this rig. I'd like to note that the sound systems in the Linux kernel (ALSA or OSS) don't fully support the Creative X-Fi series sound cards. Any other mainstream card and you're fine. Auzentech and HT Omega all have great cards using C-Media 8xxx audio processors. And they have full Linux compatability to boot!

Funny article, but why all the Mac bashing?
Also, you don't have to defend Vista, because you DO have an alternative. It's perfectly usable, perfectly customizable, and perfectly free. It's called Linux.
