Would it be possible I used a Q9550 instead of a Q9650?If so, why?

Would it be possible to go with a PC Power & Cooling silencer 750 watts for only $10 more? If not why wouldn't i be able to. Also what would be a good substitute for the motherboard because i can't seem to find it on newegg.com.
