Exclusive Interview: Microsoft Admits What Went Wrong with Vista, and How They Fixed It

Posted 09/14/2008 at 09:30:12am

This was a pretty big stumbling block in the stairwell of progress, and I'm afraid that bill has poorly navigated that stairwell, hit his poorly designed stumbling block and has managed to stumble down, hitting his head real hard (how else do you explain those million dollar Seinfield "ads" that should just resign on a video sharing service as a pipe dream for other aspiring richer-than-you types such as MTV's Sweet Sixteen and should be renamed M$'s Bill's Antics With X-Gen Favorite Celebritry, actually, bill if it wasn't technically an ad, you should syndicate the show.)  But the FACT OF THE MATTER IS that though M$ is flush with cash, the whole of the IT industry is now unplugged from M$ (except maybe INTEL--we haven't heard from INTEL). The IT world, sorry to say say it, bill, is a zero tollerance feild, and you, due to your two year screwup are no longer part of the party, just a neccessary guest that is excluded from most of the talk, for now or at least a while until those planning a "planned obsolescence" solution for you have finalized their plan and it is more or less ratified and executed by the industry. Maybe there is a future for you in the peripheal/input devices market, who knows? Also your press releases are largely discredited as "phishing expeditions", most developers out there are profiting immencely from the open source model, and have no intention of using C#, PC manufacturers are already testing alternative OS's, IBM, and others are developing Linux as their PC platform of choice, and SUN NOVELL is openly calling vista a "legacy" OS. IT managers are even calling vista everything short of a disease, because it doesn't play nice on mixed networks and they are tired of chapter 6 of "DLL Hell". AND, there is talk of STEAM and that flock GOING LINUX! Maybe, on second thought you had better syndicate that thing you have going with Seinfield, as you might have a lot of years left, and you might need something to live on when you grow old. (Most likely this M$ thing is going to eat all your billions in the next decade!!!)

Looking Beyond Windows at Microsoft's Mysterious Midori Project

Posted 09/05/2008 at 03:54:06am

Really... It is bad enough that tech and other computer related college textbooks are not only largely about the exiting new features of Vista and Office '07, and use the new and improved technically incorrect double-talk of M$, are college students learning to program going to be brawnwashed into thinking in C# so bad that that C++ is so confusing that they readily reject the whole open source model and accept the one that says that M$ owns everything? Reports like these make me think that America is doomed and it will be M$'s fault becuase they had a firm, strategic grip on the Americian mind, and we live in a country of sheep sedused by M$'s marketing branch, happily allowing M$ to indoctinernate our students, producing a crippled class of technition and programmer who will only work with M$, rejecting all other pursuits and non-related technologies, who all will be caught up in a pointless project which will mean nothing in the end, because the rest of everyone will outpace US in every way and all our efforts of the years will be eventually sealed in a properietary coffin and useless to the following generation, as also will we be. All this for what, M$?? I ask you!! Greed has no tongue but elysian syrups and all will be for naught, M$!!

NewsGPGPU + CPU integration; Nvidia's and AMD's little holy grail? on
Nvidia to Optimize Drivers for VIA Nano Machines

Posted 09/04/2008 at 11:48:42pm

Nvidia and AMD have been aquiring alot of hardware technologies and market analysts dont know what to make of it, sugesting that it is just bad for them, proping up the big WINner, INTEL. To give INTEL credit, they know alot of how to make a traditionial CPU and are the current leaders (in the x86 department), but AMD and Nvidia may be working on something else, that INTEL knows little about.. massively parallel processing, the kind that resides in your GPU. The typical GPU can process thousands, maybe millions of indivisual computations simultaneously, each in their own indivisual proccess, whereas a CPU core is mostly a serial device, each one only capable of maybe a few proccesses at a time (though the CPU core can cache many of them at a time and get back to them when it is convenient). Don't get me wrong, I AM NOT downing the CPU. The CPU's organized approach is what make executing software instructions possible. I compare the current model to a doctor's office with a head secretary being the operating system and the patients being the software. In the current model you could add more subordinate secretaries (system subprocceses) and more doctors (CPU cores), and things will not get much more efficient! Instead, if you add a verry large team team of nurses, medical specialists, physician assistants, what have you (parallel processeser), and maybe a good staff administrator (an embedded OS on the motherboard) to organize the non-physician staff, now you have a hospital capable of handling hundres of patients, if not thousands, instead of a few, mostly waiting lin the waiting room, like at a doctor's office, because the patients will be triaged, and seen by a nurse, and the doctor will have all the neccesary info on the patient (no more need for the doctor to take the patient's blood pressure, or any thing like that) and the doctor only has to make the final judgments as to what is to be done to help the patient. And a note on emedded systems: I am not talking about one that can open a GUI for a user and allow him to browse his emails, which I think is kind of pointless on a PC motherboard, not so much a hand-held, though. I am talking about one that might reside on one of the CPU cores and work to co-ordinate the efforts of the massively parallel  processor and the and the other CPU cores to present a mostly serial x86 environment to the OS (one that is perhaps thousands if not millions of times faster, to be measured in terrahertz, OR what INTEL is going to feel when they contemplate why they ignored all these other technologies)-- one that even Window$ can run on well, and wont require advanced application or even OS utilization of multicore technology, and everyone can be happy!!

Mac Users Are Whiny Losers. Love, Maximum PC

Posted 09/03/2008 at 02:23:57pm

All you'd have to do to end this Apples/Window$... and Linux(?) battle royale would me to hand out guns becuase all the Apples/Window$ users would shoot each other on sight while the Linux users would go to a secluded area to try to disasemble their weapon in order to figure out how to improve it! And WHY is this thread tagged LINUX, anyway?? Apples is DEAD to the Linux community, though we sometimes like to install a PPC Linux distro on a Mac, after thouroghly removing the original Mac OS! our main realm is the PC, and all other unlocked hardware, not especially Mac crap. Those that say we share a heritage with apples are wrong, that ended with the original closed source Unix, some kind of which apples aquired in it's early days. No kind of closed source Unix was made into Linux, the original kernel was a complete rewrite of a Unix kernel, released on a public license, compiled for PC's from a Minix OS running on a PC!! So please give the linux community some respect because we believe in adapting the OS to our own needs, istead of adapting to some big heads idea of an OS. By the way, don't try Linux, if you are waiting for a jobs or a bill to spell out how you will do your computing,  you are not worthy!!

Microsoft R&D Looks To A World Without Windows

Posted 09/03/2008 at 01:52:00pm

Of course it's not their fault-- M$ uses alot of double talk. Technically singular is a RDK (research development kit) or compiler system that is in heavy development, then some M$onkey desided to call it a research OS (it can run in it's own shell appearantly, but I can guarantee that any compiler+shell OS is NOT going to be user friendly!!!), and some clueless blogger threw in the word "Midori" on top of that!! Sounds like a recipie for a verry sensational, verry confusing, and verry abiguous Press explosion, that just makes no sense what so ever...

Microsoft R&D Looks To A World Without Windows

Maybe you can get better information from your magic 8 ball! I read the singular whitepaper and all it appears to be is the new compiler for the newer window$ down the road, it's main features are better integration with Java code and a new built in features for OS integration (which is one of the weak points of window$ as is appearant from poorly integrated hardware drivers crashing the system 85% of the time, according to M$), and may be M$'s approach to fixing a few of it's serious serious problems. How Midori became associated with Singular, I cant make the connection, because there is none in the said article's cited documents! Once again someone is talking straight from their ass!

Google Enters the Browser Market with Open-Source "Chrome"

Chrome = Specialty Firefox

Just go to the Mozilla developer section and look up documents headed with "sandbox", then for a bigger suprise look ones headed with "chrome", and though they are rather vague documents, they have been there for some time!! It is no secret that Firefox and Google colaborated on this one, it even says it on the BBS news cap on the subject, and according to BBC Google and Mozilla are to collaborate "for some time". It is no lie that Google has been borrowing from the open source community for some time, that became blatently appearent when they released the Linux distro called gOS. How else can the Google search engine make Liver Search seem to suck so quickly as it did (Liver Search undoubtably runs on Window$ and it's spider engine probably flops aroung like a gimpy quadripaligac compared to Google's spider engine which secretly doesn't). At least Google isn't trying to reinvent the wheel, repeatedly, like M$ DOeS !!!

Microsoft R&D Looks To A World Without Windows

Posted 09/03/2008 at 09:37:06am

Maybe Midori isn't so Window$, after all. Here is the Unix term defintion for "Midori", retreived from the Debian packaging blurb:

Midori is a lightweight web browser based on WebKit. . Among its features: . * Full integration with GTK+2. * Fast rendering with WebKit. * Tabs, windows and session management. * Bookmarks are stored with XBEL. * Searchbox based on OpenSearch. * User scripts and user styles support.

Webkit!!?? That's apples controlled mobile technology!! I think that your blogger is full  of it, or else M$ is taking cues from apples to save it's mobile segment, and your blogger misinterpret some M$ memo, and is still full full of it. Better be carefull MPC, weigh your sources carefully.

Haha

Is This What Linux Will Look Like in 2012?

Posted 09/03/2008 at 12:41:38am

My advise to you, if you want a distro for your PC which doesn't make you choose between different packaging styles, just stick to a Debian (which has nearly all packages available to linux compiled into it's massive repositories) based distro, and if you want one that is especially user friendly, I strongly reccomend Kubuntu, especially with the new KDE4 desktop. Besides an add/remove programs feature that makes installing software easier than it was ever on Window$, installing openGL features for your video card is easier all the time, and just keeps getting easier, you will find that your system will be correctly configured on a fresh install, with software essentials installed already, and though there is that initial update, it is a breezy proccess requiring no reboots and will complete in less than maybe 20 mins, without any interaction other than to initiate it. But the bueaty of Linux is that its developers have been going all kinds of directions with this adaptable code into all sorts of specialty distros, and has been RULING the hand-held and embedded departments, and soon your Nokia cell will be running Firefox on top of a GNU-Linux shell and will KICK apples to the curb!!!!

Since when did all of the distro's files all be at one unified location. Fact check: most distros are mirrored globally, largely at prestigious universities, which often mirror many distros and other GPL'd code, libraries, and applications,  at the same time, and since when was Linux such an easy target?? Linux distros put out only a few exploitable code a year, Vs. one or so a day from M$. That is why it makes such BIG news!!! Half the time they are patched by the time the news breaks, but window$ lubbers love the chance to say "I told you so" so much that they run the stories anyway.
