Proof that Email Scams Still Work: Woman Loses $400K

Posted 11/19/2008 at 11:59:46am

The reason the woman got taken in was greed. It was the thought of getting great gain for a small investment. I can't say that the husband was much smarter. If I had the retirerment plan he had and my wife started doing this I would have lock her out of it and he also should have gotten the police involved in it early on. The very least he could have done at any point was gotten her declared unfit to handle her finacial affairs and prevented the fiscal meltdown he is now in. Oh well the old saying "Theres's a sucker born every minuet" still holds true. She will get fooled in the future if she still thinks she's not gullible as she apparently has'nt learned her lesson. AVG Update Inadvertently Cripples Windows XP

Posted 11/12/2008 at 11:03:18am

I got in on a 3 yr free deal for Trend Micro Internet Suite, and have been using it for the last 3 weeks. I was having some sluggishness with XP caused by AVG and my spyware programs and once I switched it went away. Over all I have been pleased with it. KOMMANDER

Microsoft Justifies Its Windows 7 Naming Decision

Posted 10/15/2008 at 02:59:49pm

I like the name just hope that it lives up to the hype. I by-passed Vista and decided to wait till Windows 7 comes out, of course I will wait for about 6 months after its release to let the major bugs get worked out but yep I will at that time switch the whole family over. One things for sure when someone ask what version of windows your running typing in 7 is gonna be easy. KOMMANDER

Is Microsoft's New Windows Campaign Violating Trademarks?

Posted 10/06/2008 at 03:40:32pm

For once someone is tring to bamboozel Microsoft. G.ho.st is in the wrong as to how they went about it so I doubt they will win. I mean come on filing to make the phrases your trademark and sending Microsoft a letter on the same day and that after the ads are running. As much as I think MS deservers a good kick in the butt for some of the crap they have pulled wrong is wrong and it doesn't matter who's doing it. KOMMANDER

AMD Sheds More Light on Jaw-Dropping Cinema 2.0 Tech

Posted 08/13/2008 at 06:30:14pm

Its good but not that good. As the subject says almost but not quite. As the previous poster points out its in the jaw and for my part in the mouth. The mouth just doesn't look right. I can't quite put my finger on it but it doesn't seem real and still  animated look to me. KOMMANDER

Can Ncomputing's $70 Computing Device Pitchfork it to Tech Stardom?

Posted 08/02/2008 at 07:42:29am

Unix systems did this years ago. The only thing diffrent is the use of ethernet to do it with. Remote terminals have been around for a long time. The thing is that home owners couldn't take advantage of it because of the cost for the hardware and you needed a server addition of Windows. I know that you could use Linux but most folks wouldn't go there so Windows was the only route for most. I hope this takes off as its a good solution for a lot of families that can't afford 2 or even three systems but who could afford one highend system and then some used monitors keyboards, and mice. Rumor: Channel Vendors Demand Card Makers Recall Faulty Nvidia Products

Posted 07/27/2008 at 12:00:39pm

Given time all companies have their ups and downs. I have an 8600 series card and haven't had the slightest hicup. You wait long enough and Intel will have its problems and AMD will acend. Nividia went through this with 5000 series card not rendering well with DX9 so I wouldn't say that they are down and out, they just had a curveball thrown at them. The game will always go back and forth between the big teams with some winning more innings than others. Right now ATI is on the upswing but 2 or 3 cards later may be playing catch up again. I will always go with the better product no matter who makes it. KOMMANDER

This is the Fundamental Problem With Vista

Posted 02/28/2008 at 04:24:29pm

It shouldn't surprise any of us that MS would stoop this low and cave to Intel. Intel has had the crappiest on board video for years and they don't seem to want to fix it. Oh well what can you expect from companies who think it everything ought to go their way or no way. I haven't bought an Intel board in years and probably never will until they learn to build boards that are on par with the likes of Asus, Gigabyte,MSI and last but not least XFX. KOMMANDER
