Nvidia Launches Tesla Supercomputer, up to 960 Cores for $10,000

Oh, well I was just speculating. Do these cards use the same 200series GPU's but with more ram and different drivers and bios and stuff? The stream processor count just makes me extremely suspicious.

That Badass GTX280 and 4870X2 are both products that were brought about by hardware standards required by DX10, namely the unified shader.  DX10 video cards are great with DX9 games and work great in XP. So there is no need to hate on DX10. It gave us super high end graphics cards and that is what makes it the best thing to happen to computers ever. DX10 I love you.

Man that sucks... Perhaps they are starting to get people to multitask then.... LOL.. That really sucks though. Thanks for the Article. It really is a terrible time to be unemployed. I'll pray for them.

I've never been much of an mmorpg player. I do like Multiplayer FPS's though. I hope they keep their chins up and stay positive.

Happy Birthday young Gordon Freeman. May you live another ten years. I just plunked down 50bucks to purchase one of your cousins Left4Dead. May it be as great a game as you were and still are.

I don't think they will be getting rid of anyone over this. The way it sounds they have more games coming so they still have work to do. I'm sure they don't dedicate employees to just one product since it's online I'm sure those employees multitask and handle a few products at the same time to make it more cost efficient.

Good now I hope that they quit selling secrets to the Chinese and Russians as well. At least try to catch the people doing it and hang them for it. Hard drives are constantly disappearing in our Nuclear research facilities and labs. It happens so much that it doesn't even make the news anymore. And the Chinese, Iranians, Russians, and North Koreans don't exactly like us. Why should we trust them not to use our secrets against us. We need to start growing some balls and caring more about ourselves and less about the rest of the fucking world. We need to kill our enemies and protect our interests and demand our enemies to pay us tribute to keep us from destroying their asses. Cue up Battle Hymn of the Republic somebody...

Nvidia Launches Tesla Supercomputer, up to 960 Cores for $10,000

If the 960cores are the Stream processors in 4 Geforce GTX280 video cards then it's probably as fast as the DM2008 or maybe a little faster depending on the bench mark. I doubt that this machine comes with anything more than a quad core cpu. It's emphesis is on the CUDA meaning the GPUs though. So it's fast but I bet it's about the same as DM08 and I bet it didn't cost anywhere near 10,000dollars to manufacture.

Well don't be hating on DX10 as it brought about the unified shader architecture. Without DX10 we wouldn't have hundreds of Stream processors in our GPU's. DX10 is truely one of the greatest technologies to come to computers ever. Simply because of the unified shader technology it brought about.... So love DX10... Love it man!

New Forceware 180.48 Drivers Released, Claims up to 80% Improvement, Enables SLI Multi-Monitor Support

Posted 11/21/2008 at 10:44:57pm

Well I'm running WinXP32 again with 4gigs of DDR2 800. 2xGeforce 8800GTS 640mb Video cards in SLI, Asus P5N-D 750I MB, Xfi ExtremeGamer Sound Card, and the myriad hard drives and dvd burners.

Anyhow uninstalled the previous 180.43beta driver and used Driver Sweeper from Guru3d to remove all traces and installed this driver.

I love to play Crysis Wars and with this driver I experienced game crashes and bad artifacts and choppy play. I uninstalled these drivers and used Driver Sweeper to completely remove all traces of this driver and reinstalled 180.43 and all the problems went away. I'm running the latest system bios with SP3 and all the latest updates.

Perhaps these drivers were optimized for the Geforce200 series?

Things like this happen some times. It shouldn't but it does.

Am I only only one with these problems?

Will they reimplement the DirectSound3D API if so then all will be happy. I always felt that along with WinFS DS3D was axed to speedup developement.
