How-To: Install Ubuntu and Linux Apps on Your PlayStation 3

I've heard mixed results on using 7,200 rpm drives, so I chose to ere on the side of caution. I also used a 7,200 rpm drive with success, but I would caution people that it's a gamble...

Yes, you can still play games on your PS3 after installing Ubuntu like normal. But remember to back up your saved games first. This process does NOT delete XMB, it simply dual-boots between the PS3's native OS and the new Ubuntu partition.

Out of curiosity, what happened to the poor ol' Thermaltake V1, rated by our very own Max PC as the best ever? After a glowing review (and an immediate purchase by yours truly), the all but abandoned V1 has vanished into technical obscurity. No zero point benchmarks, no head-to-head comparisons, nothin'. Alas V1, we hardly knew thee...

HOE-LEEE crap. My heavy is finally getting an update?! For his first unlock, I want the speed of a scout, a rocket-launching infinite ammo mini-gun, a sniper-proof helmet, a flame-proof vest, 700 health... and I want all of this after 1 achievment. Dammit.

Also: MGS4 = one of the greatest games ever made. I have no idea why I included this.

Happy freakin' birthday old man! Nice to know we have some fellow 30 pluses on the team. As for me, I'm staying 30 forever. P.S.- you really should play wasted more often. You were kicking some serious ass last night. Woot!

Now that Will's on vacation, does this mean Murph (the bestest coolest tallest editor ever) is in charge? And if so, can you Fed-Ex me everything on Will's desk, including the desk itself? Kthxbye.

Yeah, I drive an hour one-way to and from work each day. On the plus side, podcasts like this one (especially this one) make the commute far less painful. This is why my world pretty much ends when my podcasts get delayed. /killself.

Murph: I love ya, but dude- no worthy PC games? For shame! A list of what I'm currently playing: -Crysis for a second time -Bioshock for a second time -Portal for the third time -Guild Wars -TF2 -Medieval II Total War -COD4 Multiplayer -Oblivion (still) And how about the rest of the games that came out like Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, The Witcher, Sins of a Solar Empire, Burning Crusade (to name a FEW)? In my opinion, 2007 was one of the best years ever for PC Games. Now testify!!

Damn straight. Nothing beats generation 1 animated series- nada. Well, unless you count the original movie (Galvatron), which is probably better than Citizen Kane. Proof? It was Orson Welles' last performance (as Unicron)! I even went out and got the infamous limited edition where Spike says "Oh shit." Good times.
