That would take a dedicated 1600 watt powers suply just for the graphics card.

Murphy's Law: Apple Opens Up to Closed Standards

I was discussing this not very long ago with some people and while I agree Silverlight can do fantastic things we would just be locking ourselves in another proprietary format. Another plugin. Ultimately the best thing would be that the browser does all the job, straight by convention with no plugins involved or anything.

Murphy's Law: Apple Opens Up to Closed Standards

Posted 01/28/2010 at 04:31:54am

I agree David, but in a way Mozilla is currently holding the users from experiencing the next "web" by trying to force their GPL standards. I don't think backing up OGG is bad, not at all, it's simply not the right time. I think we can safely switch from Flash to H.264 in a first time to experience a much less cluttered "web-video" experience and not being so constricted from an outdated technology (Flash was never meant to be used in such a way so it's not wonder it's such a slug) then further on move to more open standards. Changes shouldn't be drastic but a progression....

Freeware Files: 5 Apps for Hardcore File Management!

Ah man I'd die for something like that. I have a library of drivers that is more or less organized (around 20GB), sometimes it's just more practical to have drivers grouped in motherboards rather than grouped in components, it makes the job easier and much quicker. Thing is obviously many components are alike and use or could use the same driver and thus there's many duplicates.

I'm too lazy to do hardlinks so I just leave them be, but it would be awesome to have an automated program to do that.

They should have gone that route in the first place.  They may or may not have been successful.  Given that they do seem to have the chops for innovative thinking and the grit to go to the mat who knows?  Regardless, selling Linux systems and products as a business plan has to have a better future than inviting full court press law suits from Apple.

Hiren's boot CD contains commercial applications that you should have to buy normally. This make it illegal and not really worthy of being a contender to UBCD. ;)

I was with you up until you recommended Norton. You guys must get paid for saying it because Norton is the worst Antivirus ever. It simply rapes your system. Norton is for people who don't know any better.

20 Essential Tricks and Skills Every BitTorrent User Should Know

Posted 12/13/2009 at 01:08:35pm

Furk.net is pretty dodgy.

Looked all over and saw no download limits, apart from in the TOS where it says "We may limit bandwidth on accounts."

But when the premium page says "Download limit per 24 hours : Unlimited"
I understand it to be unlimited, but they seem to think otherwis. Especially since they don't mention the 40gb limit ANYWHERE on their site apart from your premium page once you've paid.

Instead I actually paid for 40gb of downloads, that expires after 30 days
You can pay for extra download bandwidth of course, but, I'm just hoping they aren't dodgy enough to auto-charge me if I go over the limit instead of saying "No more downloads."

But of course, I can't ask them because there isn't a single support email address, and the DMC emails are answered by a robot.
