Everyone always cries over the pc cost to console cost disparity but if anything, consoles are bridging the gap at quite an alarming rate.

Back in the day when you still spent anywhere from 1500 to 2500 on a kickass pc and you could own 3 or 4 consoles for less than 500 dollars, yeah, consoles were a nice cheap gaming platform that made plenty of ecenomic sense. Today? I just spent $800 on a PS3, 2 controllers, and an introductory game or 2. Consoles are rising in prices each generation, but the PC pricing system has been established and isn't going to change beyond general inflation.

So with the PS3 going the road of taking over the role of a gaming PC with its keyboard/mouse support, external hard drive support, web browsing and amazing digital download support, at what point is the console/pc dividing line going to get too thin to be able to tell the difference, and the whole argument moot? My guess? If the rate of general inflation and performance and feature increases at the same rate it has been, we'll be presented with this dillema all too soon.

Gaming Roundup 7/24/08: Tomorrow's Just a Delay Away

Wow I can't believe this guy is preaching the death/inferiority of PCs compared to Consoles not once, but twice in this article.

Epic says: "Version 4 will exclusively target the next-gen consoles... PCs will follow after that"

This guy says: "In Epic's eyes, the PC is a square, old third-wheel -- no longer cool enough to stand on equal footing with the youngsters Microsoft and Sony are popping out. Will the next-next gen be a console exclusive?

Wtf? What happened there? Did you just leap to a ridiculous conclusion routed in either a lack of understanding of the insane popularity of the unreal engine on the PC or did you not understand the context of his adverb 'exclusively'

And then the second blurb which links to an article which supports not the death of PC gaming, but of the continued success of companies like blizzard. I don't know whether you regularly use really convincing sarcasm in your article, but I hope thats what it was, and not your actual opinion.

I hate flaming but this is the one website I never want to hear anybody spouting the ridiculous myth of the "death of pc gaming"

Its called maximum PC, not maximum console fanboy service, so please, in the future, try post informed opinions.
