SophosLabs Sets Out to Prove Windows 7 Has Some Vulnerabilities

Posted 11/06/2009 at 09:07:59am

Since when did Microsoft EVER say that you should NOT have some kind of Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware programs running in XP/Vista/Win7? Never! Apple is the one who touts that, and now they are paying the price for their arrogance! Microsoft is all about the user running those programs, because there are so many Windows based PC's in the world, the hackers just LOVE to have their "fun" on. It sucks, but that's life in the big world today! Anyone who thinks NOT having something like AVG, Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc. are just being foolish. Windows 7 UAC is no different than Vista in terms of you needed BETTER protection than using UAC by default. Tis article, and especially SophosLabs, gets a big D'OH!!!!

Windows 7’s Market Share Hits 3.6 Percent

Posted 11/03/2009 at 10:03:16am

I am one who has been running the full Windows 7 Professional for a month now and I give you the all clear with it! It's fantastic, and I went from XP to Win7 with no issues, and even eliminated a bunch of junk I had in the process. Windows 7 is NOT Vista as Vista was pre SP1. It's more like the best of XP and Vista combined in a solid, stable, and very well made package!

Windows 7’s Market Share Hits 3.6 Percent

Posted 11/02/2009 at 08:21:27pm

I WAS an XP user since 2002, but 4 weeks ago I got to install Windows 7 Pro. thanks to my company! This has been the best 4 weeks I have had running ANY Windows product! Windows 7 is fantastic, and I hope Apple the best of luck, because they are gonna need it badly! Windows 7 kicks OSX's arse so bad, well, it's not even a contest!

Windows 7’s Market Share Hits 3.6 Percent

If Windows 7 is doing this well already, Apple is in for a nasty slap in their cocky little faces!

Has Windows 7 Already Lost to Mac OS X?

Posted 11/02/2009 at 05:57:09pm

I mean, c'mon! Windows holds 92+% of the market, Apple has 5+%. Even IF they make it to 10%(I doubt they will any time soon), they are still woefully far behind Windows. I mean, Windows 7 in a week and a half has 3.6% of the market already......so it won't be long before Windows 7 has a larger market share by itself than ALL of Apple. So I say, NO, OSX does NOT have a "win" over Windows 7. Windows 7 kicks OSX's butt so bad it's not even funny! As of right now, Win7 is the best OS on the market for any computer! Period!

CyberLink Afraid it Cannot Profit from Windows 7 Release

Posted 10/30/2009 at 08:52:14am

Okaaaay....and this is important because? If PowerDVD isn't necessary on new systems running Windows7, OH WELL, that's life. Netbooks are popular, and if they don't need or can't use Cyberlink's software, that's just too bad for them!

Microsoft Concocting Its Own Multitouch Mouse

Posted 10/29/2009 at 10:59:39am

.....but not real practical, IMO. I LOVE my G5 mouse, and the feel of it. The idea of no longer having physical "buttons" or "scroll wheels" makes me cringe. Certain devices work well with multitouch, but I for one cannot see going to that in my mouse. The above picturre looks like some kind of game pad more than a mouse, but I can see where they are going with it, even if I would never buy into it.

The Apple Magic Mouse is just too small and uncomfortable looking for my big hands. Again, my G5 is perfect! No need for anything else, for me.

Apple Ready to Pounce Windows 7 with "Get a Mac" Commercials

Posted 10/29/2009 at 10:03:50am

So what you're saying, according to your analogy, is that Apple is on the verge of collapse!

Well, since Chevy is not on the verge, your analogy about Apple is also untrue. I hate Apple, but I know they are doing real well right now. Windows 7 will boost PC sales, but Apple will be around too, unfortunately!

I agree. It really looks like a game made for the Mac crowd. PC gamers want more than this kind of crap! Definitely pass on this one!
