Playing games since the days of Magnavox Tank and Atari 2600, I tend to be less motivated by fps than the younger folk. I played Star Trek on the TRS80, Karateka on the Apple //, Star Raiders on the Atari 800, ArmourGeddon on the Amiga, Doom on the 486, cut my teeth on rough (yet stunning) 3DFX drivers for Descent and Tomb Raider, thrilled to Myst and Marathon on the Mac, played C&C on Win 95, Dark Forces on Win98, Operation Flashpoint and the Sims on Win2K and have thrilled to the last 5+ years of PC gaming magnificence with masterpieces like Half Life 2, Portal, BioShock, and the age of WOW and MMORPGs.

I don't care where the games get played -- just as long as they aim for deep immersion, non-cliched characters and story, and cinematic-style visualizations.
