EVGA Launches 4-Way SLI Motherboard
Posted 09/03/2009 at 08:23:19am
Are you that much of a fanboy that an apple add threatens your manhood? I'm no apple lover by any stretch of the imagination, but i don't get angry because I see adds for their products.
A little diversity now and then never hurt anyone.
QNAP Reveals TS 669 Pro Turbo 6-Bay NAS
Posted 01/13/2009 at 08:28:00am
I agree. A good old fashioned NAS shoot-out is in order. MaxPC, what do you think? Maybe for the next issue?
UPDATE: LOL I just realized the picture they used here says "TS-639 Pro" on the LCD screen when the article is referring to the TS-669.

Microsoft Won't Commit to '09 Launch for Windows 7
Posted 01/08/2009 at 08:47:22pm
Yeah, the Vista launch was definitely over-blown. MS promised too much and then didn't deliver. Us tech-heads were disappointed when realizing that bosted technologies such as the WinFS were not implemented, and the general public was disapointed when it realized that performance sucked when poor hardware standards for consumer pc vendors were allowed
Having tested both build 6801 and 7000, it's apparent MS is taking its time to get it done right. Thoughtful features have been included with speed to match. I've never seen a Beta install, boot, and function so well.
With the Core i7 processors maturing at the end of 2009, it will undoubtedly be good timing for Windows 7 to be launched early 2010. If MS keeps up it's great advancements (as seen between the alpha builds and beta release) this will be a great OS.

Hmmm. Never been a huge fan of Linksys products outside of their routers, but who knows. This could be interesting. Seem's like integrated LCD displays are hot ticket at this years CES.

Lame Password behind Twitter Hack
Posted 01/07/2009 at 09:46:41am
Twitter should higher smarter employees or at least enforce a password policy that requires letters and numbers in order to protect itself. You'd think an web-based company would have that under control.

Gmail Tells IE Users to Switch - For Their Own Good?
Posted 01/02/2009 at 11:52:55am
Hmm. Chrome is ok but I don't think it's features (for me) are that outstanding that I would switch from Firefox 3. The fact that Firefox has foxmarks (bookmarks sync toy) alone keeps me committed. As far as IE, I only keep it around for compatibility with corporate sites and for windows update on XP (not needed in Vista or 7).
Google needs to re-think Chrome before they heavily invest in it IMO. It offers little usability changes to me (aside from the interesting home page) and with todays CPU's I see no speed performace. I'm sure there are others with different opinions, but as long as I have 7 different computers (all of which I use on a daily basis) I will be sticking with Firefox until Chrome has a similar bookmarks feature. I'm not fan of IE, but I see no reason to use Chrome
Anybody else think it's worth it?

Cooler Master V8
Posted 01/02/2009 at 09:22:16am
Been eyeballing this one for my next build. Zalman put out a conversion bracket for the CPNS9700 which WAS my favorite cooler, but seeing as how this is performs better while having a lower price has sold me.
I had planned on using red in my theme anyway.
