Apple Ready to Pounce Windows 7 with "Get a Mac" Commercials
Posted 10/25/2009 at 07:47:26am
Actually, Apple is rated # 1 in Customer Satisfaction....not Customer Service. Two TOTALLY different things. This makes their argument even weaker. "Do you like your Mac?...Yes?...Are you satisfied with it?...Yes?" "Do I like my custom built quad core PC?...Yes?...Am I satisfied with it?...Yes?" See...that really means jack crap. Apple is lame with these pathetic commercials. Why not tell me WHY a Mac is better. What innovations make it better? What features make it better?...they haven't got anything to say on that. I think THAT speaks volumes...

Comcast Insists It's Here to Stay
Posted 10/21/2009 at 09:17:03am
I have been a Comcast customer for almost 6 years, now. I think their service is pretty damn good. I used to use RoadRunner before that(they were bought out by Comcast where I live) & I find the service to be a bit better. I find their connections better than DSL which my father-in-law uses. As far as bandwidth caps...I have never come close to reaching the monthly limit & I download movies & games & such quite a bit, as well as play TF2 online on a daily basis. Hell, other countries have far more restrictive caps than Comcast. I think my cap is 250Gb per month. I honestly can't see hitting that. I also find it totally affordable. I use their "Triple Play" which includes Broadband, Cable TV, & Home Phone service for $144 usd a month. I payed almost that a month just for phone service from AT&T.

I have had several packages "go missing" from USPS delivery. I now insure any package I send...funny, now they never "get lost", because they can be tracked now.

Installed 7 on an older Sony Vaio- p4 2.8, 2 gigs ram, nvidia 5200 (had to use Vista driver 98.xx), 120 gig hdd & it only took 45 minutes & everything works perfectly. You do know you can use any Vista driver in 7. You can also run pretty much any XP driver in compatibility mode.

Sure, Your Work PC Can Run Windows 7, But is it Really Worth the Upgrade?

...I just put Windows 7 Pro on my father-in-law's P4 2.8, Nvidia 5200 & 2 gigs ram pc & it runs perfectly fine. Every program he wanted installed worked fine. This is just a ploy to have companies spend unnecessary money. Times are tight & there is no need to buy new machines if the OS works out of the box.

Best purchase I have made in years. I use my Eee pc 900a daily. Running Windows 7 Pro, it is a perfect extension of my desktop. Only wish for it- gaming graphics...other than that, it is awesome. I don't know what I would do without it.

Stardock Boss: “If Games For Windows Takes Over, I’m Done”

GFWL has hurt more games than it has helped. It is a resource intensive program that MUST be running in the background the same time the game is running, Patches must go through Microsoft for approval, even if MS has nothing to do with the game, & the matchmaking it provides is a total joke at best. The "idea" behind it is nice enough, but MS has never given it full attention to realize it's potential.
