Should You Avoid Windows 7?
Posted 08/21/2009 at 01:38:49pm
Plan on going straight from XP to 7 this time around, skipping Vista almost entirely (it is only on two systems).
XP is a great OS, but the writing is on the wall, so if the reviews are even half accurate, I'll be happy with Win 7 for the forseeable future.

Microsoft Obtains Patent for PC Ransom

Yes, we all are well aware that MS has never screwed up before, and their code is flawless.
As long as they don't start screwing with the legit copies, I'm o.k. with this. Hell, I paid for all my install
disks, everyone else can as well.

Microsoft Obtains Patent for PC Ransom

Just because they own a patent on it, doesn't mean they can legally use it ;)
First time they disable someones legally obtained and licensed computer look for a lawsuit.

GPS Nearly Takes Another Life
Posted 03/27/2009 at 07:09:34am
I found this funny. With all of todays technological advances we're babying those who would otherwise succumb to Darwinism. This is Mother nature's way of bitch-slapping us back into reality :)
We have GPS in 2 out of 3 cars here. The only time we even bother to turn them on is when we're trying to find some place in an area we are unfamiliar with, and even then we understand that the information is only as accurate as it's latest update.

This is pathetic and scary all rolled into one.
Censorship of ANYTHING is just the beginning of a
downward spiral into governments absolute control of so many
things we hold dear.

Zalman Z-Machine LQ1000
Posted 12/30/2008 at 06:54:39am
Look at the test results at the bottom of the review, the temp differences
are minimal between low and high settings; I couldn't think of a better way to
state it other than 'static'. A better description would have been poor design
and implementation in the EU controls resulting in below-par performance expectations.

Zalman Z-Machine LQ1000

For over $800 retail, I would expect the case to be absolutely perfect. Light leaking from poor design or manufacturing, too short to accomodate the current lines of top-end GPU's and 'static' cooling (although very good) is just not acceptable today. Seems that Zalman has realesed an alpha version into the wild.

"performance has defiantly improved" Interesting choice of words that I can assume is targetted at the 'other' mobile browsers? :)

Microsoft's Seadragon Mobile Debuts on the iPhone

Is it just me or does the MS Seadragon icon look an aweful lot
like Firefox? At initial glance, that is what I thought it was.
