I'm an IT tech that is absolutely amazed by technology in every aspect.
I'm a hardcore gamer for as long as I can remember. I started out with my
console training wheels (Atari, NES and Super NES, Playstation, Nintendo 64),
but once I played Counter-Strike for the first time I knew it was time to
rise to the elite level of gaming. I had played PC games growing up (Leisure
Suit Larry, LHX [anyone remember that one?], all of the Sierra ____ Quest
games, Doom), but consoles remained my main gaming world through high
school and beyond. I bought my first computer in 2001 and, as the old cliche
goes, dove in head first.
I've been a loyal Maximum PC subscriber since then and will be as long as it
is in print. The attitude, humor and useful info that the guys bring to every
issue is simply unmatched. I'm also a podcast listener.

It's so ironic a single article of electronics that costs almost $2000 can be classified as "mid-range". I've got a Canon myself, but per use photography has to be one of the most expensive hobbies in existence.

I was going to say the same thing. Why is it even necessary? Games don't even saturate a PCI-E 1.0 bus. Why the hell do we need 3.0?
i guess I should know why...to sell more hardware. Nothing like a shiny new slot and buzzword to make people rush to Newegg the day it's released.

Definitely gonna keep an eye out for Kick-Ass. I've been waiting for a comic book movie that leans toward the realistic side.

Can't blame them for watching their own ass. The fallout from a virus attack that propagated itself through their servers would be 1000x worse than 16.4 million people experiencing a slight and temporary inconvenience.
