I am using vista and have tried about 7 diferent encoding options but every time i get an error message that the selected player (ether quicktime/itunes or WMP) does not support the file because it ether "does not support the codec" (wmp) or "does not understand the file" (quicktime) (same problem, diffent settings, different players) is anyone else having this problem?

I must say that it looks amazing and I would be willing to put one in a new rig if it only came in higher wattages

Windows 7, DirectX 11!

A good number do... but the problem is that most games we tend to get now are ported from the Xbox and PS3... anything that is run on the Xbox is run in DX9 so most developers dont see the point of DX10... so I guess this would just turn into a piracy discusion but I wont go there... but yeah there are still plenty of DX10 games if you look around

If my sourcs are correct, there are still more systems with windows XP than Vista, even though Vista offered and still offers some great things that the average comsumer could use... market need would tell you never to come out with new stuff... just updates to old stuff... in otherwords, if we did that, we would be using DOS 16.1 instead of XP/Vista... thank you Ill take my new stuff now...

I'm planning on waiting for SP1 of Windows 7 so the OS will be more stable (not many Windows launches have been that great, but after SP1 the seem to get A LOT better) then just build a new rig (core i7, new DX11 GPU, etc...)

You do realize that using a fan controler on your GPU ether means you have to use software (which we have ruled out as a posibility because it will ether turn our fans off or keep us from changing them), the only other option would be to use a physical fan controler which in some cases (some more than others since the 200 series cards have no room for cables to come out from the cooler) and even then they would have to be ether compatible with the fan contoler normally (extreamly unlikely), modded for a mobo fan connection (anoying), or modded to use a molex connection (extreamly annoying)... have you ever tried using your own advice? (sry if it seemed like I was bashing, I was only meaning to point out the flaws)

If you read the previous comment that I left, I had the same problem except my fan wasn't even turning on... you might want to check

When I saw this article, I was so excited that I went straight to Nvidia's website to download the drivers! I install and restart and what would you guess? The fan on my GTX 260 has stoped working! My card is running at 57-59 degrees C IDLE!!! (and thats in a cold room and no heat from a CPU fan since I have liquid cooling on my CPU). After rolling back the drivers the fan started working again perfectly, so a small warning (*looks up*) well maby not so small... but anyways... If you are using Vista 32Bit (dont know about XP or vista 64bit) then be sure to check your fan after installing the new drivers (thank god I didn't start up Far Cry 2 before seeing this) Thank you for your time and be careful!
