Intel to Launch First Core i7 Chips on November 17

Quoted from here: http://www.guru3d.com/news/intel-core--i7-and-x58-prices--expected-release-on-3-november/

"Prices, I've also got these for you .. the Core i7 920 will cost 284 USD, the Core i7 940 562 USD and the Core i7 965 which is an Extreme edition BTW, will cost 999 USD. These are prices per 1000 sold processors. "

These are the prices that I've seen mainly around the web. TomsHardware among other sites had a really good review.

I'm excited for Core i7. I could see it significantly setting AMD back even farther. However, the few benchmarks that have been posted over the web have been heavily truncated, so it doesn't seem like anyone outside of Intel and the board makers know exactly how well the chip is performing.

Microsoft Patches Critical Vulnerability for XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Others

I wondered why I had that update yesterday. (Vista Ultimate 32 bit) Well, it is good that they caught this.

I've been a long time member of the CCleaner forum as well, and they had a topic about this as well. I find it interesting when topics such as this over lap on tech forums across the web.

I like how the 9800 is single slot with this new cooler. However, I've been hearing about how ASUS does not have the greatest customer service. I probably won't be buyin either for a while.

Good news is that the prices on all Penryn parts should (theoretically) lower in price. The Q93XX, Q94XX, and the Q95XX would have a decent price drop, and making these systems even more affordable.

I love CCleaner. I forgot how I found it, but it works wonders. I've had it for a while now. Only program I would have added would be Unlocker. I had this truly stubborn file on Vista that wouldn't delete, and it worked it's magic and it was able to be deleted.
