Tilera Announces 100-Core CPU for Data Centers

It will run cyrsis:
Just as soon as Crysis moves to the "cloud". After all, that's what this chip is built for. ...And, the chip won't care what's running on it, regardless of the O/S or hardware platform your using. You just need to setup something like OnLine Live! (or whatever it was called) to get in the game. ;) ..'Cause you'll still need video compression.
Maybe a nice distributed computing project awaits with the addition of open standards for the ATI gpu.

Hey, am I missing something?
Like, Wear are the monitors?
You guys built Dream Machines (3 of 'em mind you), and not a single thing to look at.
Personally, If it was ME, I'd go for rack mounted pizza boxes if I was building a headless server room.

So, what's with the blue "1st Responder Gloves"?
Is that now an O.S.H.A. (occupational safety health administration) requirement?
And where is the anti-stat strap?
Hey wait, I have a great idea. Combine the two.

I have 1.5 Gig of RAM and an overclocked Sempron 3400+. If I leave ff 3.5.x open for several minutes (or longer) I have to kill it with task manager. Otherwise, if I forget, my cpu gets pegged at 100% apoun exiting and stays that way. Once task manager came up, I monitored the performance chart for 10 minutes. It showed no signs of stopping, so I killed the firefox.exe task.
If Mozilla considers this to be O.K., then I will either go back to 3.0 (which works perfectly for me) or run Opera. IE8 is not so bad but, since I run firefox on linux it's easier to keep them synced if I just run firefox.
I know my PC is old but, anything that can crush Doom3 should be more than good enough to run a web browzer.

...1 billion downloads and still in the land of beta.
I kid.
but, honestly who cares when your/my cpu is pegged at 100% every time I exit out of 3.5.1 under XP?

Now that I have discovered first hand that EA Sports Superbike2001 does not finish loading after install; It might be a good time to point out that this article does not mention how to uninstall anything. Under the wine menu, it's all there. Is all I should have to do is click "uninstall superbike2001" but nothing happens. So now that I have about 200 meg of code just sitting on my hardrive, how do I gracefully remove it without uninstalling wine itself?

Universities Closing Computer Labs Thanks to Laptop Ubiquity

So I guess there won't be any Cisco Certified Networking classes at Virginia (like there are at Jr. college). Must be a liberal arts college. I'm just guessing, but I think they might very well sink that money into teaching comp-sci and still have computer labs, just not for everybody.
