Not all PC manufactures are cheaper than the Apple models. A few months ago there was an article here on how Lenovo was the first "real" PC manufacture to ship the new Intel Xenon processors, but they Lenovo are pricy. a 2.66Ghz D20 is more than the Apple MacPro base model.

This is why Apple can sell you a Shiny product, with less features, charge you more money, and you can feel it's easy to use. Although it is nice to boot a new system with out a dozen little things loading and asking for your attention.

These D20 machines have not even shipped yet, and you cannot see the pricing and options available, so not sure of the the "Apple Doesn't Count" reference applies. Also the old D10's when configured with 8 cores and enough ram to do actual work are more expensive then the Fruity California computer company's offerings.
