Google Offers A $1,337 Bounty on Chrome Bugs

Posted 02/01/2010 at 07:34:23am

The install was quick on my Ubuntu machine.  Chrome's layout is simple and straight forward.  Firefox is my main browser but that might change as the more i use Chrome, the more I like it.  I also use Opera as a secondary broswer.

Opera 10 and its Turbo Browsing Already Downloaded 10 Million Times

Posted 09/08/2009 at 04:17:52pm

I started using Opera 10 for Ubuntu 2 days ago and love the fact that they have a 64 bit version.  I am still test driving the browser and I have no complants.   I got tired of Firefox (not ver 3.5) disappering, I  mean crashing on me .  I tried Opera a few years back and deceided to use Firefox.  Looks like I will be moving from Firefox to Opera 10 Turbo.

Are Netbook Buyers Satisfied with their Purchase?

Posted 01/24/2009 at 10:31:10am

I bough an Acer Aspire One for my wife and she loves it and so do I.  True, it is not as fast nor does it have anywhere near the power that my desktop PC has.  When she, we, or I  travel,  that is where the netbook shines. It is light, small, and great for checking email and doing surfing the web.  The size screen is good and I have no problem using the keyboard with my big hands. I had to get a USB mouse but that was expected.

The bottom line is, as with most products I buy, do your home work.  read specs, read reviews, and play with the product before making a purchase.

It does what I want it to do, nothing fancy, nothing overly complicated.  I am happy.

Beware of Mail-in-Rebates (Seriously this Time)

Posted 11/16/2008 at 04:42:49pm

I got the great notebook at a fantastic price, with rebate. In fact it came with two rebates, one ($) from the manufacture and one ($$) from the retailer. I mailed both rebates within 3 or 4 days after my purchase. The ($) manufacturer rebate must have gotten to me in what seems like 4 weeks. I had almost forgotten about the retailers rebate check and when I remembered it I checked the web site and nothing so I wrote the retailer. They replied that they just got the rebate and it was post marked too late for me to received the $$. I was pissed and wanted a photocopy of the envelope, which I did not get. I kept replying through their web site and finally they said to call them. I did and long sorry made short. I received my ($$) rebate but DAMN that took some work. I don't want to have to go through this each time just to get what was promised to me. Colt725
