The 9 Things Microsoft Got Right

  • Instead, you had to exit Windows, boot up in DOS....
How young is the writer that the "Back in my day..." statement even includes Windows?  Don't you remember before that when half the games required putting the disk in and rebooting because the game wasn't using DOS at all?  Or tediously copying line after line of BASIC out of a magazine in order to build the game yourself?  Sheesh

Another One Bites The Dust: Championship Gaming Series Closes Down

Posted 11/19/2008 at 02:47:11am

A couple weeks back at a bar I saw that the Best Damn Sports Show Period had a $100k Madden finale in Times Square, I believe.  I could be wrong on some or most of this, of course, as I don't have cable and don't give a shart about pro gaming.  I'd pay creative double for drivers and apps that worked and NO MORE FATAL1TY BS.  He's a good/great player, not an engineer, and not at all useful in my day to day activities.

Top-Selling PC Games of September: Spore, WAR, and More

The DRM ticklefest aside, Will Wright's corner of EA seems to be doing quite well for itself.  The Sims 2 is all over these lists despite The Sims 3 now being available for pre-order.  I'm guessing some sort of electronic heroin is to blame.  Also available for pre-order: The Sims 2 Mansion & Garden Stuff.  Build a virtual version of Will Wrights home while you lose your own.

Microsoft Talks about the New Zune and the Possibility of a Phone Version

In the interview Belfiore recants his dream of a future where media flows seamlessly from Zune to Xbox or even...

I don't think that that is the word you intended.  From what I read, he has not backed away or withdrawn from that dream.

I don't understand how "Asus's website doesn't meet expectations."  Are you new to Asus products?  I really don't know how else your expectations could possibly have risen to the point where the website could disappoint.  Me, hell, I'm just thrilled when their website doesn't try to run malicious code on my browser or play that music from the old hamsterdance site.
